HUGE .... WINE runs a very complex testing proggy
Hi
I'm not going to give the name of the proggy, because there may be Microsith trolls around, If someone wants the name please pm me.
I've tried to run this VERY complex test generation proggy under Codeweavers Premium paid, using Xan.... 4.0 absolutely no go...not even an attempt, just balked.
I tried it also under PCLinuxOS using Codew...

Wine Setup
Still have these questions:
CWp3 winedbg symlink is broken. How to fix?
I am hearing that in order to deinstall a Windows program, you must compile a
certain proggie from the sources. It doesn't seem to come with CWWine. Best avenue?
I chose Desktop mode, as I need two apps running simultaneously. Freedom, which is my privacy app and netscape-mail must run together, as mail is fetched

http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty/amd64/libc6-i386/download
I can install IntelliCAD perfectly fine but when I launch it never appears and the system goes into a processing loop: I can see the cpu useage going up up and up in System Monitor until all four processors are at 100% and still no proggy.
To see whether the problem was with IntelliCAD itself I installed WinXP on the same machine and IntelliCAD runs perfectly.
So the issue is either with Ubuntu for amd64, or with Wine for amd64. Or is it one of the packages I had to install to make Wine work? Strange thing is no packages were requ...

SQL Based playlist plugin
I know that there are capabilities to write plugins in PERL and Python, but I don't like either. I have written a playlist manager and randomizer, but I am having problems understanding how to integrate the proggy as a plugin into ices.. Can anyone point me a to a good reference?
TIA,
Deven

advapi32.dll
Hello,
Have solved all my problems with WINE, but one, which seems harder ;-)
I have to run a little proggie "filesign.exe", and the lil bastartd
relies heavily on advapi32.dll crypto stuff, (CryptAcquireContextA(), for example).
From what I read on the code (dlls/advapi32/crypt.c), most of this functions
are stubs, so no luck (it crashes all over with the return FALSEs)
So, I tried

Rep:Wine Setup
Sorry, I'm new to this group, therefore I couldn't
answer until now.
I think I may have some answers, all related to Wine
source distrib, but they should be adaptable to
CodeWeavers Wine:
1) Don't know...
2) for uninstalling win32 apps, you have to use
"uninstaller". This program is in
./program/uninstaller from the wine source tree. It
is very easy to install actually:

Wine NT Services / Serial Port
...hadles, no
baud-rates). And then, after a while, the application reports "no gps
receiver found", as if it never saw anything on the serial ports.
BTW: gpsd / gpsdriver or minicom all tell me, that the gps receiver is
working ok...
Perhaps someone here can help me debugging this stupid proggy, or point me
to a gps utility, which (unlike gpsdriver) comes with complete maps, and
route planning - which works under wine (if not native).
Thanks a lot!
Best regards,
Richard

[AGI 1.4] C sample?
Hello
I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to C, but I have to use
this language to write a couple of AGI proggies because I need them to
be statically compiled.
Strangely enough, Google didn't return much when looking for the
"Hello, world!" of AGI in C.
The following doesn't work: The file never gets written:

//check_cid.c
#include <stdio.h>

Agent under Wine
Agent NNTP client from Forte.
I know that it works in Wine according to Agent NG, but I keep getting an "unknown error".
Suse 11.3
New to Wine - I am starting proggy simply by going into the Wine explorer and double click the .exe file. Is this correct?

Testing two E400P with E1 cross-cable
Hi!
I have the chance to play with a couple of E400P cards, each installed
in a IBM e330 XSeries servers (2 x 1GHz P-III CPU 2 Gb RAM, 36Gb SCSI
HDD with RH8.0 2.4.18-smp kernel), and I'm trying to test/benchmark this
e330/E400P combo generating calls thru /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing
One e400P if doing the carrier work making calls and the other just
receives the calls:

program doesn't work, wine returns without message
Hi List,
I'm new to wine so please forgive me if I ask silly questions.
I have a program here called matikus.exe which is some mathematical education program for kids. It runs under Win98, but I don' want to reboot my linux box (ubuntu 5.10 on AMD K6-2 500) just for that single win proggy.
This program resides on CD and when I start it under wine I just get the prompt back after some short time without any error message. The only thing that is printed is
sizeof(RADEONDRIRec) == 100, devPrivSize 100
but I get this message also from programs like glxinfo.
How can find out why wi...

AGI why oh why?
I have been learning AGI, and have got to grips with most of it, one thing
just confuses me.
I have written a PHP class that does input and outs stuff to the AGI. It all
seems to work. However on a stream file command. It's a bit different.
If I have a php file that just plays a file and hangs up, the dial and hang
up are in the dialplan, so the php proggie looks alittle like this.

turnpike 6 - a challenge for i cognoscenti, or a lost cause
The beta version of turnpike 6 is out. I'm using it here, but under
win4lin.
A big point of the new version is that it uses windows explorer, and I
had heard on the grapevine that it was therefore going to be a problem
proggie for wine.
I've tried running the v6 'connect' program under wine - that works
fine (downloads a new newsgroup list, gets me an e-mail - when WILL I be

Diablo 2 - Sound
HI,
I just installed recent cvs-wine, put my windows-partitions into the
wine.conf and diablo 2 was running instantly.
The only thing, that doesn't work, is the sound. I'm running a AWE32
ISA-Card, configured with alsa/w oss emulation. All Linux-Proggies, using
oss, just work fine.
At the start of diablo2, the speakers are cracking once, but as soon, as
the videos are played, there

vixie cron 3.0.1 continued
The problem with vixie cron is wider (and more funny) than I expected.
Here''s my proggy which allows hiding files of any kind and size into
crontab entries (remember, quota is ignored ;-):

echo "Vixie cron 3.0.1 file storage - put utlility"
echo "by Michal Zalewski <lcamtuf@staszic.waw.pl>"
