Domain Admin Group privaleges
Using Samba 3.0.2 (specifically the samba-3.0.2-7.FC1 Fedora package)
with LDAP as a passdb backend I'm encountering problems with Domain
Groups. I have come across various postings, some to this list, with
people that are experiencing similar problems. However I have not found
any information as to the cause/solution. The problem is as follows. I

[Fwd: snowfall on Win7]
Dear Ola,
I cannot say anything about Windows 7, as we do not have any Win7
machines here in our institute and I even do not know someone who have
Win7 on a private machine. I will try to find a machine with this OS and
test it.
Anybody having experiences with Win7 yet?
Greetings Jo

Asterisk Certified Hardware label?
...for manufacturers and a point-man for Asterisk Users.
I'm sure this would probably need the approval of the guys at Digium, but I
think it would greatly help the community in general as well as promote
Asterisk in the telecom industry.
We may even be able to charge manufacturers for the "privalege" to be
Asterisk Certified or sell them stickers and have all the money go to Digium
for development.

Also, some people can get properties on a printer and change the driver
selection, change "Printing Defaults..." via the "Advanced tab", others
cannot. It seems to have nothing to do with whether one is logged in as
administrator vs. has administrator privaleges, etc. It seems to be
random.
I can do it logged in as administrator. I have no "user" login.
The guy across the hall can do it as himself (he has admin rights)
or as administrator.
The guy down the hall can't do it as himself (he has admin rights).
What is the magi...

Samba became Domain Member Server
Hi group,
I have problems with a former Samba-server. It has been a simple server, no acl-stuff,not a DC or so.
Now we have a Windows 2003 PDC and I intergated the Samba-Server as a Domain Member Server.
Everything works fine, except one annoying thing:
I cannot allow the Domain-Members to full-access the files recursively.
Example:
The users complain, that they can make an excel-sheet and

Security question for newbie
Hi,
I am using Samba version 3.051 in an Active Directory setting with Windows 2000 server.
Everything is working rather well with regards to file-sharing and authentication.
However, the one thing that I noticed that I haven't been able to fix quickly with SWAT is the prevention of browsing the Linux file-system with users such as 'nobody' or 'bin'.
For example...
I have a
