Printer settings reset problems
Hi,
I am working on a print server project where we have ran into a big
showstopper. The print server works in a very mixed environment with
clients running for example Linux, Windows NT4, Windows 2000, VMS,
different Solaris versions and other Unix dialects. The server runs CUPS
for printer spooling and Samba to serve the Windows machines. It's the
Windows machines that has caused most

Samba + Cups 2200 Laserjet printer
Hi all,
Hoping some one can help me out here.
I have a 2200dn laser printer working on a centos 5 server (using webmin for
configuration).
I have added it via webmin as a samba printer share with permissions to my
account.
Security is set to "user level" not "share level" (the default).
I can access my samba shares fine, download and upload to them.
I can also see the

disappearing printer drivers
...he drivers, on my CD, and it uploaded them no
errors or so i thought. The process completed without errors, the rom and
the hard disk moved, yet checking the samba box in the print$ share nothing
has been added and i have global permissions set for this operation. I am
doing this as a member of the printeradmins group and in smb.conf i did set:
use client driver = no
default devmode = yes
for i have had an issue with a previous deskjet uploading drivers, that one
actually gave me an error, and adding default devmode fixed it. My samba
version is 3.0.10 if that helps.
Any suggestions welcome.

'deadtime' in Samba 3.0.13
Hi,
I currently have deadtime = 15 in my smb.conf. This featured worked good to
disconnect clients that have been idle for > 15 minutes in the past. With
the 3.0.13 version, it seems to do nothing. As in, it just keeps the user
connected indefinitely.
Here is what I see when no one is currently at the office and everyone is
logged off their computer.
Thanks

Sudo rules in samba with winbind
Hello All,
I am currently changing my samba linux clients (Debian) from sssd binding
to winbind.
With sssd I had all sudo rules within the samba active directory.
The configuration was based on:
https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2016-April/199402.html
Is there some guideline like the one mentioned available/has someone
already experience with this for winbind based clients?
