Re : how to plot select points in preexisting persp plot
...es(act[which(act > 8.75)]), cex=0.7)
But I get all the points labeled, instead of the points that satisfy
the condition specified. Is there any way to plot only the points I
want? Also can this be done using "trans3d" function. I found no topics

R bioconductor agilent aCGH analysis
Hi,
I would like to analyze some agilent aCGH copy number files. As a start, I
would like to normalize this data. I don't know what is the standard way to
do this. Which package is the standard one that people use for this
purpose? The chips that I am looking at are the agilent sure print 1M
(G4447a) array and a custom chip with similar format. My raw data is a text
file with spot locations

Median computation
Hi,
I have a 250,000 by 300 matrix. I am trying to calculate the median of
those columns (by row) with column names that are identical. I would like
this to be efficient since apply(x,1,median) where x is created by choosing
only those columns with same column name and looping on this is taking a
really long time. Is there an efficient way to do this?
Thanks!

rsync or other tool
...his short file list and such small sized
files, system leads to OUT OF MEMORY error within 2 hours killing my
application and many other applications!
Is there any solution? Should I look for some other tool which is equivalent
for rsync but can be used for such small optimized transfers?

SIGUSER1 and rsync
Hi,
What is the behaviour of rsync on receiving SIGUSER1 signal? Can I block it
in someway so that my application that repeatedly calls rsync and rsync
itself will run smoothly.

Terrible problem, some men in my net changed their MACs! :/
Is any way to detect changed MAC adresses?
Someone taught change MACs peoples in my network and I have problems.
E.g. Two computers working on one MAC, and one IP (static ARP and DHCP).
WinXP is screaming some message... that two computers or more have the
same IP.
How can I find out who''s changed MAC?

Sacrilege, but...
Well,
I consider icecast as a testing application server. You just cant deploy it
all of a sudden becuse it needs a lot of work still and the UI needs to be
friendlier. Lets wait till the top programmers come up with a central
solution which i am sure that they will. I myself have been using SHOUTcast
and its ok. User count reached at 460 a time ago but with icecast, i dont
think that it can at

Sacrilege, but...
Hi all,
I'm afraid that having spent yet another entire day floundering around in
the world of icecast, I've really now got to the point of asking a
difficult question.
I set up an icecast server back in early 1999, and it seemed to work fine
for months. We had a server crash here that meant I had to go and reget
the sources to rebuild, and ever since then it has been nothing but

RoR admin system
I''m preety new at RoR (and programming), I tried a few tutorials, and
really like the RoR simplicity, but my knowledge of the framework still
isn''t very good (to be true, i understand the basics, but not everything
that''s in the tutorials).
But still I''d like to create a website which has:

Latex errors when checking package
Dear listers,
I just run R CMD check on an update of one of my packages.
All seems fine but after having gone through all the Rd-file and example
checking and so on, I get the following kind of errors:
LaTeX errors when creating PDF version.
This typically indicates Rd problems.
LaTeX errors found:

USB-Storage after perfect booting
Hello, I'm doing experiments with my unuseful 8MB SMartMedia card on a preety
USB CardReader. This may be is an off topic, but I don't have many friends
that deal with this kind of stuffs.
Everything is fine, I use the media just to load a kernel and an initrd with
some drivers to boot from network (I have a lot of boot ROMS and their sucks)
I tested on a lot of PCs using the Andrea

Alrighty.. ALMOST there! :)
So, a friend pointed me to the patch for sock.c:533, and that patch went a
LONG way in fixing the streaming problems I've been experiencing (on
solaris 8/sparc.) Thanks so much for that!
Now, I think that *sending* the stream is now squared away, but I think
one problem remains on the receiving end of things.
I use the perl streamcast utility to stream my playlists, and tracks sound
great.
