Rails db model validation with separate web forms, help.
Hello, I have a DB model that has many columns and I would like to separate the input from the user into web forms on many pages to not overburden the user with entering a lot of info on one page. However, I can''t figure out how to handle the validation of the user''s input... I would like to validate each piece of data on each form page before the user is allowed to move on to the next form page. Is it possible to only...

Re: Problem with febootstrap version while compiling guestfsd in centos6.5
Ah OK, and what about generating the libguestfs-live-service for centos ? I know that they may compatibilities issues with the distribution of source rpm for fedora >=16 Actually i prefer not have all our guests overburdened with the libguestfs package while we just need the daemon. Beside i believe that with the live-service packege, closing the guestfs handle does not cause the daemon to exit (correct me if i am wrong) Thank you 2014-02-25 16:15 GMT+01:00 Richard W.M. X11 XVideo extension supported?
...extension is supported or not? In a clean wine setup, I installed DivX 4.01 and The Playa, also installed Windows Media Player 6.4. They can both display DivX 4.01 material with sound. This is simply great :-) However, the performance is not that great. Especially when going fullscreen the cpu is overburdened (slide show). I assume that the XVideo extension is not used yet? xdpyinfo says I have the XVideo extension and xvinfo says I have YUY2, YV12, UYVY an dI420 image formats. Is support for the XVideo extension being worked on or is it already included (and I did not enable it)? regards, Bernha...

markaby or erb?
Guys, We''re embarking on a new dev project, and I''m curious....why would one choose markaby over erb? I for one am no fan of the erb syntax, but aside from that it''s similar to other technologies I''ve used in the past: PHP, JSP, ASP, etc. Why would one choose markaby over erb? What are the benefits? What are the drawbacks? Is there anything remarkable

on demand server
...ider this as a _newbie_ question ! The reason why I am not just putting some .m3u links on the webpage and let my apache server do the job is that I don't want users to download the file. The second reason is that I will put big audio files (ie 30minutes) and I'm afraid apache will soon be overburdened. I'm not sure Apache has been made for this (even if it can serve big files, I know). Icecast would be more appropriate since it has been made in purpose of streaming audio (right?). Maybe I'm wrong, but I still want to know if I can do on demand streaming with Icacast, and how. Maybe I...

DESIGN question: We do not need damned publishers
Here is the actual design of my CMS : each Item is secured by 3 (+1) elements: readers group writers group publishers group owner readers = people who can find the item in the database and .... read it. writers = people who can add new content (create new versions or sub-pages) without making their changes visible (they can propose content). publishers = people who can change what readers

QoS with Artifficial Intelligence
Hello everyone, it is not the first time i discuss this topic here, but now it has come the time to actually do it. My idea is to set up a daemon to run QoS on linux, with a particularity, add some A.I. capabilities to our system and hence, be able to change QoS "topology" every certain time to obtain the maximum performance. I first want to teach the system which parameters should i

Asterisk Jobs
I'm curious why the number of jobs out there requiring Asterisk seems to be pretty low. After looking around dice, monster, careerbuilder etc, I was surprised to find no more than 3-4 employment opportunities with Asterisk throughout the US. Is it really that low? There seems to be a job of opportunities for Cisco and other vendors solutions (duh... GUI's are good... duh). I wonder if

zfs inotify?
OK, so this may be a little off-topic, but here goes: The reason I switched to OpenSolaris was primarily to take advantage of ZFS''s features when storing my digital imaging collection. I switched from a pretty stock Linux setup, but it left me at one disadvantage. I had been using inotify under Linux to trigger a series of Ruby scripts that would do all the basic ingestion/setup for
