Using i915/i945 XvMc in Theora
Hi, Intel has recently open sourced otion compensation code (XvMC) for their i915/i945 integrated graphics chips. See: http://gitweb.freedesktop.org/?p=xorg/driver/xf86-video-intel.git;a=blob;hb=xvmc-i915;f=src/xvmc/I915XvMC.c XvMC API was intended for MPEG{2,4} class of codecs - so it can not be used for Theora as-is. However, could at...

Proper way to boot memtest86
...ird hang (my older versions of memtest hangs too). Anyway chainloading in a floppy image with memdisk on CD or pxeboot was fine but if I use memory to emulate a floppy I was not using this memory to be tested. May be is not the way, but on my old disks memtest was using just a label and kernel otion for te binary image, and I just replace the old memtest with the new one to use the image on pxeboot and my rescue CDs. Any try? :) -- Gustavo Guillermo P?rez Compunauta uLinux www.compunauta.com

Winbind & Samba 2.2.7a on FreeBSD
...clients (hope this is correct - this is my first time playing around with winbind because I'm bored with syncronizing NT&Unix Accounts). Then, I joined the domain with smbpasswd -j MYDOM -r NT4PDC -U Administrator (supplied the correct password) and got the success message. The wbinfo otions -u, -g, -t, -a (challenge/response & plaintext) do all work fine. But when I want to connect from a w2ksp2-machine to Samba, it doesn't seem to hand over the provided user credentials to winbindd (same with smbclient on localhost). So here are some questions: - I don't need the pam co...

help! error in creating a new domain
Maybe this question is a little stupid, but please help me. I am a newbie to Xen. When I tried to create a new domain "domain 1", I followed the Yan-Ching CHU''s guide on :installing quick file systems for new domains in Xen 1.2". But when I do "xc_dom_create.py -Dvmid=1", Xen seems to start to boot with some normal bootup information, but right after several

I installed the 2.2.0 from rpm and I want to install the 2.2.1a from the sources, but I would like to use the same directories as before. (And I would like to use PAM, VFS, quota and ACL.) ...> So what config-options do I need to install 2.2.1a on my suse 7.1? > Must I uninstall my old 2.0.7? > thanks for your help! Hi, best way is to uninstall the 2.0.7 samba via rpm, then compiling the source like: $ cd /path/to/samba-2.2.1.a/source $ ./configure (read the README for some otions like --with smbmount, ...) $ make $ make install (default installs in /usr/local) $ create a smb.conf $ create /etc/rc.d/init.d/samba (with start|stop|restart options) $ create links to rc2.d, rc3.d, rc4.d, rc5.d and rc6.d finished :) Regards Richard Return-Path: <atefeh_kashfi@yahoo.com>...
