Re: nVIDIA solution
...ur real name?) > The problem was the AGP driver, Not the Nvidia driver. I was wondering if you could help me write an informative FAQ for this. Here is what I have so far: The Nforce2 driver is part of the kernel-unsupported package (which must be installed separately). Set the Option "NvAGP" to "1". This tells the kernel to load the agp module made by nvidia not the Generic Linux kernel which is AGPGART. (When and where do you set the NvAGP option to "1"?) Thanks, Rick

Half-Life sound problem
...work. 2) Some fonts don't get found (which messes up the scoreboard). I'm running Mandrake7.2 with kernel 2.4.2 and XFree 4.0.1 and nvidia's 0.9.6 drivers. Some things i've found out so far: Using the nvidia agp driver hangs my system, the kernel agp driver works fine (Option "NvAgp" "2" in the Screen section of XF86Config-4). And i recompiled the NVdriver (enabling SBA and AGP2x in os-registry.c, i also enabled FW but that doesn't seem to work with my TNT2). I use the 20010112 with the transgaming and winehq diff patches. Does anyone know how i can get bet...

Wine/WoW not detecting monitor hz
WoW detects my monitor hz as 77, 78, 79. 80, 81, 82 but not 60hz which it should be! This causes a lot of tearing which can be annoying. Is there any way of fixing this?

Nvidia Drivers
When I load the latest driver from Nvidia in CentOS-3 the logon screen turn light gray and I can't log in. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what did you do about it. If I use the driver that comes with CentOS I don't have any problems. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! FreeBSD 4.9-PRE+ nvidia
Hello all. I have the same problem as described by Dmitry a day ago in a topic similar. I am able to use x11 with base driver "nv" but when I load "nvidia" driver, startx simply crash my machine and reboot after 5 seconds. I have a similar log file as reported by Dmitry even using startx+logverbose option. XF86Config file is similar, except it is not the same nvidia video

PA-RISC (hppa) video cards init failure loading the device driver kernel module
Dear "nouveau" developers, I know that many very competent guys have already spent a lot of time and efforts on this issue without success. I have started to play with "hppa" two weeks ago and, with the support of the linux-parisc mailing list people, now I have a - almost fully - working workstation (hp c8000). Everythings work perfectly BUT the video card. No matter the

I see that it's using AGP - there's a high chance that something AGP-related is broken - try booting with nouveau.config=NvAGP=0 (or nouveau.agpmode=0 for pre-4.3 kernels). Perhaps it has issues DMA'ing the command buffer from system memory, we can try forcing the pushbuf to be in vram - boot with nouveau.vram_pushbuf=1 . If there are PCI slots and you have a PCI video card handy, I'd definitely try that too. Go...
