After a long break, one more try at bond/bridge nics
took a couple months off due to road blocks, hoping a fresh look would
allow me to use my server as desired.
I have three ports, eth0-2 over two nics.
I want to bond them, and then use a bridge to connect to virtual
machines on the virtual host computer.
Never having done this, I am confused on some parts.
Here is where I am at now and any pointers helpful. Single server,

CentOS6 virtio?
Are there any updated instructions for installing Windows virtio drivers on
a KVM Windows XP vm under CentOS6? The virtio .iso directory structure is
slightly different from what is described in the RHEL6 virtualisation
manual, and when I attempt to install e.g. the viostor driver, the device
manager cannot find anything better than what is already installed. I tried

True bond howto for Centos 6
Hi all,
Read many posts on the subject.
Using 802.3ad.
Few problems;
Cannot ping some hosts on the network, they are all up.
Cannot resolve via DNS which is one of the hosts that I cannot ping, internal nor external DNS hosts.
Unplugging the NICS and plugging them back in will then not allow pining if the default d=gateway.
When cold booting it somewhat works, some hosts are pingable while

Advice sought: Virtual Win7 on Centos 6.2
Folks
I have a new laptop running Centos 6.2 64-bit. I'd like to put a
virtual machine running Windows 7 (licensed), with full audio/video
functions, and good response. Which virtual system would you
recommend? I can think of KVM, or VirtualBox, or ...?
The "good response" requirement pretty much excludes a web-style
video presentation.
Opinions solicited.

a cloud VM under CentOS
Hello everyone,
Does anyone know if it is possible to construct a cloud of sorts out of
several CentOS machines so as to enable a VM (or several VM's) that would
run on top of that cloud and have failover capability?
Boris.

KVM - Virtio drivers for Centos 5.1
Hi all,
Really enjoying KVM as I was a long time user of Xen. Both are cool, just enjoying the new thing.
Wondering if any one could share some nuggets on how to get a Centos 5.1 VM guest to use virtio?
Trying to use virtio over the ide.
Thanks in advance,

Fencing question(s)
I've got a Centos 5.8 box that I use for testing Xen VMs. I'm trying to
setup some Centos 6.2 hosts in a high availability situation. I've tried
the pacemaker route and couldn't get the connection established, so
thought I'd try the RH-preferred methods. Mind you, all of these VMs are
on the same host.
Using Conga, it seems that I need some sort of fencing device, which

I need to create a real-time replication of a partition between two servers
with centos 6.4, I am researching and finding difficulty with drbd, corosync,

proper bridging technoque
Hi,
Wondering if this is the proper bridging technique to use for Centos6+KVM;

Before I embark on this again, I would like to do it by the book.
Thanks in advance,

KVM, VLAN and Bridges and bonding
Hi all,
I use CentOS5.x + Xen in production for virtualization. I use it with bridged vlan networks and bonding (active-backup) like that:

using ip address on bonded channels in a cluster
I'm creating a firewall HA cluster. The proof of concept for the basic
firewall cluster is OK. I can bring up the cluster, start the iptables
firewall, and move all of this with no problem. I'm using Conga to do
all of this configuration on Centos 6.3 servers.
To extend the "HA" part of this, I'd like to use bonded channels instead
of plain old NICs. The firewall uses

Live migration using shared storage in different networks
Hi!
I am building a KVM cluster that needs VM live migration.
My shared storage as well as the KVM hosts will be running
CentOS.
Because 10 Gbps Ethernet switches are very expensive at the
moment I will connect the KVM hosts to the storage by
cross-over cables and create private networks for each
connection (10.0.0.0/30 and 10.0.0.4/30).
The following diagram shows the topology

Clustering solutions - mail, www, storage.
Hi all.
I am currently working for a hosting provider in a 100+ linux hosts'
environment. We have www, mail HA solutions, as storage we mainly use
NFS at the moment. We are also using DRBD, Heartbeat, Corosync.
I am now gathering info to make a cluster with:
- two virtualization nodes (active master and passive slave);
- two storage nodes (for vm files) used by mentioned virtualization

clustering
Hey folks,
I just went through the archives trying to find some info on this but
did not come up with much other than it seems there are a few experts
here on the list.
I have no experience with clustering and have just taken over a Stem
Cell Research Lab that has a Grid Engine cluster. I have not yet dug
into the details of Grid Engine (only been here a week now) but am
just trying to get up

Problem with CLVM (really openais)
I'm desparately looking for more ideas on how to debug what's going on
with our CLVM cluster.
Background:
4 node "cluster"-- machines are Dell blades with Dell M6220/M6348 switches.
Sole purpose of Cluster Suite tools is to use CLVM against an iSCSI storage
array.
Machines are running CentOS 5.8 with the Xen kernels. These blades host
various VMs for a project. The iSCSI

Virtualization Options!
Hi,
I'm searching for "virtualization options". I already take a look on
VMware, but it needs too much MS software to work for my needs. Citrix needs
less, but the key validation is still MS-AD.
Now I'm taking a look at RHEV... and run into Oracle VM! Somebody had already
take a look at Oracle VM?
We need in primary a solid VM solution for an "enterprise

kvm cluster w/ c6
In our development lab, I am installing 4 new servers, that I want to
use for hosting KVM. each server will have its own direct attached
raid. I'd love to be able to 'pool' this storage, but over gigE, I
probably shouldn't even try.
most of the VM's will be running CentOS 5 and 6, some of the VM's will
be postgresql database dev/test servers, others will be

iSCSI best practices
Hey folks,
I had some general questions and when reading through the list archives I
came across an iSCSI discussion back in February where a couple of
individuals were going back and forth about drafting up a "best practices"
doc and putting it into a wiki. Did that ever happen? And if so, where
is it?
Now my questions :
We are not using iSCIS yet at work but I see a few places
