btrieve - a neverending story
Hello out there, recently I posted a trouble report about my Samba/btrieve experience. I have encountered the worst case scenario - corrupt databases... I had a brief correspondency with Dave Collier-Brown (whose book on Samba can't be praised enough) about this, in which he told me that working under the same login a) network-wide and b) application-wide could lead to such corrpution.

Neverending story: Networking in domU
Hi, i allready searched the archives, but found no message that really helps me. i am running debian etch on dom0 and debian sarge on domU. I had a running setup with debain sarge on dom0 before, but now with etch i can not get networking to work in domU. I use routed networking, but the same seems to happen with bridged networking: eth0 within domU is not brought up. I think it maybe related

neverending i2/lighttpd problems
So after recompiling ruby a few times to get ssl and readline working, fighting with lighty for awhile, and learning a bit more about linux in the process, I think I''m really close to getting i2 up and running. However, when I try to access my wiki, I get either a blank page or an error 500 and the stack trace below gets sent to the log. If I can''t get this working soon

Icecast server YP Woes... take 2
can you provide a dump of the conversation between your icecast server and the YP ? Use something like tcpdump or ethereal...In the dump, look for the URL call to yp-cgi and post what is being sent... oddsock <p>What I saw of the output of tcpdump didn't show any mention of the yp url. The communications seem to run only between the client and the server and nowhere else. This is the

Failing build is restarted again and again (manual request + Win32)
...While investigating, I found a "build_requested" file in my project folder which I guess was created when I clicked the "build now" button. It seems that the default behaviour is for this file not to be deleted when the build fails. Is there a way to change this? I can stop the neverending build loop by deleting the "build_requested" file Thanks again for this great tool! I have been an user of cc on other projects and this is much easier to use. _________________________________________________________________ Votre contact a choisi Hotmail, l''e-mail ultra s...

short analysys of qmail integer overflow bug - let there be light
...ading the code. (not from this mailing list). The simplest way to fix is to define pos variable as unsigned int instead of int, in the blast() function. What happens in blast()? Here what happens: Input is read byte by byte, and if input byte != '\n', then pos is incremented. This is a neverending loop, without any logical tests. Thus, pos gets an "upper-bounds overflow" and becomes negative (because it is a signed integer). If it is defined as unsigned, it simply becomes 0, and keeps being incremented in a neverending circle loop, untill the first '\n' is met. This ren...

Redirecting output from Linux-binaries called by wine
Dear wine-users, I am experimenting with wine's (wine-1.0.1) ability to interface with native Unix programs, as in $ wineconsole /bin/echo hi hi What I would like to do is something like the following. Create a batch file that calls a Unix-command (in this case `ssh`) and redirects output to a file. Consider, for example, the following lines in a file called 'ssh.bat':

serious security problem in XKB
The Neverending Story of X11 Insecurity continues... Summary: On a system where X11R6.3-based Xserver with XKEYBOARD extension (R6.1 is probably affected too) is run in setuid or setgid enviroment (e.g. typical XFree86 installation has XF86_* installed setuid root), local users can exploit a "feature"...

[LLVMdev] Just got bitten by accidentally using the wrong gcc
...Dunno, that's why I'm asking. The one thing that counts for doing it is that ./configure is exactly for dealing with all those little annoyances that different OSes, tool versions etc. bring. The thing that counts against them is that keeping the list of broken-for-llvm tool versions is a neverending task - but then that's normal for what ./configure does, so does this really count? > I guess it could be done for things like 4.1.1 or a couple of others on > the list. For those cases where the script cannot fully determine the conditions, it might be helpful to emit just a warning....

I have several networks defined on same interface. These are /30 networks, defined on ethernet interface where hw wifi access point is connected to.
