oplock not working correctly
...e file locking does not seem to be functioning as expected, in that more than one user can open and write to a file without any notifications being displayed about the file already being opened by another user. In the debug output below I have two Windows XP clients accessing the same shared file, neteng02 has the file open. neteng-vm3 then opens the same file, receiving no warnings about the file being open by another user. File is modified by neteng02 and saved and remains open. File then modified by neteng-vm3 and saved. File closed and opened by neteng02 who sees only modifications made by nete...

Windows XP Service Pack 1
I have a BSD system that I installed samba 2.2.7a onto. Smbd and nmbd both work great but if I try to use smbclient to connect to a WinXPpro (service pack 1) machine like this: smbclient //BO/C$ password -I 207.x.x.x -U Administrator -W NETENG -n HOMER I keep getting NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE. I put a sniffer on the XP Pro machine and see the NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE message. Is there a problem with NT service pack 1 that keeps smbclient from working? I saw on the list archives some registry settings to change if you want to log onto an...

sieve/managesieve and spam filtering
...has me a bit stumped. I see there's a global sieverc that can be included, but I need something along the lines of a per-user include that brings in the spam filtering rule that will "stick" until the user explicitly deletes it. ...eset="usb_devices" and then restart devfs: /etc/rc.d/devfs restart Note that libusb seems to need the /dev/usbX device that your UPS hangs off of readable by nut - it's not enough to just have /dev/ugen0 readable. windows imap clients

It's a bit overwhelming as I have to deal with a big jump in the vpopmail version, rebuilding qmail with a ridiculous number of patches, and then on top of that a migration to new imap/pop server software. eek.
