Optimize jackknife code
Hi,
I have the following jackknife code which is much slower than my colleagues C code. Yet I like R very much and wonder how R experts would optimize this.
I think that the for (i in 1:N_B) part is bad because Rprof() said sum() is called very often but I have no idea how to optimize it.

Counting number of common elements between the rows of two different matrices
Hello
I'm trying to solve this problem without using a for loop but I have so
far failed to find a solution.
I have two matrices of K columns each, e.g. (K=5), and with numbers of
row N_A and N_B respectively
A = (1 5 3 8 15;
2 7 20 11 13;
12 19 20 21 43)
B = (2 6 30 8 16;
3 8 19 11 13)
(the actual matrices have hundreds of thousands of entry, that's why I'm
keen to avoid "for" loops)
And what I need to do is to apply a function which counts the number of
commo...

clogit and general conditional logistic regression

data which arise in survival/proportional hazard applications.
My question is: is 'clogit' capable of a general conditional
logistic analysis?
E.g. given a set of data on binomial experiments with Y=1
r_i times out of n_i, associated with levels A_i and B_i
of factors A and B at N_A and N_B levels, would
clogit(Y ~ A+B, method=c(Exact"))
generate something sensible containing the results of a standard
exact conditional logistic regression of Y on A and B?

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
