Re: Guestfish command - "copy-out" not working for symbolic links
This no going to work.
AS I told you I need something under guestfish command list not from guestfs commands.
Thanks,
Chintan

guestfish --ro -a /path/to/disk run : mount /dev/your-blkdev / :
download /etc/resolv.conf /path/on/host/dst.file
Is also not working for symbolic link - as "/etc/resolv.conf" is symbolic link.

Re: Guestfish command - "copy-out" not working for symbolic links
If it is one time operation you can call 'realpath'
(http://libguestfs.org/guestfs.3.html#guestfs_realpath) first to
resolve symlink.

This might be how it's documented, but the implementation has a nod

Perhaps I'm confused on which program I need to use java-coded apps. PM

Re: Guestfish command - "copy-out" not working for symbolic links
Hi Nikolay,
We use guestfish, so I preferred to use commands supported by guestfish.
I tried as below but "realpath" is not working after I have the target path from symlink.
--> Check if the path has a symlink.
is-symlink path
Ex. - is-symlink "/etc/resolv.conf" -> return true
--> If it's true then get target link path
readlink path
ex. - readlink

[RFC] lib: allow to specify physical/logical block size for disks
From: Nikolay Ivanets <stenavin@gmail.com>
I faced with situation where libguestfs cannot recognize partitions on a
disk image which was partitioned on a system with "4K native" sector
size support.
In order to fix the issue we need to allow users to specify desired
physical and/or logical block size per drive basis.
It is definitely not a complete patch but rather a way to

[RFC] Inconsistent output of guestfs_list_filesystems
Before I rush to change something I request your comments on the subject.
Let me know what do you think and if it does make sense.
The issue: guesfs_list_filesystems is inconsistent in its output.
For, example, it filters out partitioned physical devices but doesn't do the same for MD devices.
More over, according to its name and API documentation guestfs_list_filesystem should return

[PATCH libldm v2 0/1] Make libldm to parse and return volume GUID.
v2: wrap commit message, "PATCH libldm" prefix.
The result of this patch might be used by libguestfs to return drive
mappings for LDM volumes.
Note, that "show volume" ldmtool command already returns hint which
is a drive letter assigned by Windows to corresponding volume. But
it is not reliable source of information. More over, in multiboot
environment it will be unclear
