Asterisk and SATA Raid 1
I was just wondering if there are any problems using the latest FreePBX with
SATA Raid 1 using hardware assisted software Raid like most modern chipsets
support?
I know that Digium and FreePBX were not recommending it awhile back but I
think that was based on 2.4 Kernel and Digium hardware issues. I am
assuming it is not a problem with the latest FreePBX using 2.6 Kernel and
Sangoma cards?

BLF not working after reload
Hi there,
I am running Asterisk 1.2. I have a Grandstream GXP2000 and Aastra 9133i
with BLF/Speedial configured for other extensions. The hint's are all
configured in extensions.conf and it seems to work as it is supposed to
until I reload the configuration in Asterisk or reboot the server. Then
neither phone displays the BLF of other extensions until I reboot the phone.
It continues

In another thread, I've seen a response that the GXP2000 does the same.

How hard to create Asterisk for Compact Flash?
I am aware of Astlinux and the other embedded Asterisk solutions out there?
Astlinux is nice but the problem is that when I hit a snag and need to
incorporate a patch and what not I cannot do that with Astlinux because I
cannot compile my own version.
How hard is it to create my own version of Linux/Asterisk to run on Compact
Flash. I have seen 1GB Sandisk CF for as low as $50 recently so small

What business IP phone to use
I have been struggling with this issue for about a year now. There were
just too many IP phones to choose from at all sorts of price points and not
enough information about any of them. Now I am looking at the situation
again and if anything it has gotten worse. There are even more phones and
all sorts of opinions. For every person that says phone x is great there is
someone else complaining

Receptionist phones
I've been playing with Asterisk for a few weeks and it's working great.
I have a question about getting multi-line receptionist phones working.
I was thinking about getting one of these expansion ports:

Asterisk with Vonage
I know Vonage doesn't officially have a "bring your own device" type
program, but they do offer a softphone. Has anyone gotten Asterisk to
connect directly to Vonage? This would be a great help!!

Fw: anybody has SIP realtime working ?
Hello,
I am just asking this because I am note sure if the problem
is on my side or not, I saw some comments on SIP realtime
today so I was wondering, has anybody has SIP realtime working
with a softfone ?
If yes, please confirm, that would give me a light.
My previous message to the list is below.
Thanks.

Bridged line appearance
So are there any plans for bridged line appearance support in Asterisk? The
new Linksys SPA9000 supports it. A lot of other VoIP systems from Nortel,
Sylantro etc. supposedly support it. Seems to me that Asterisk needs to
get on the bandwagon or be relegated to call centers, specialized voicemail
applications, and phone chat businesses. It's not needed for companies used
to PBX's but

Vonage and FXO
Is anyone using Vonage on an FXO port in Asterisk? How well does it work?
Specifically, any echo/delay problems?
Second part, I am assuming it is possible to separate fxo ports for least
cost routing correct? In other words, I would like the routing to be such
that any local or 1-800# dials fxo ports 1-4 which is a normal 4 line analog
PSTN connection. Any long distance call will try to dial

*.conf utilities for Asterisk
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for *.conf generators for
Asterisk. Creating *.conf files manually for Asterisk requires too much
effort for what I do other than minor tweaking. I run Asterisk as a network
appliance (Astlinux on CF) so something like FreePBX that needs to run on
the Asterisk server itself is not an option.
I have been using IPmanager up until now

Beeps and noises during calls
I have a very annoying problem that we hear on our end, but the other
party doesn't hear. There are random beeps and echo type noises that
occur. They are present during voicemails, and present on my end during
calls. Is anyone experiencing the same deal? I have asked this a
number of ways on the list, and never get a response...
Thank you.

Asterisk as a dedicated Analog PSTN gateway
Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone has successfully used Asterisk as a dedicated
Analog PSTN gateway to take the place of, for example, a Mediatrix 1204 or
an 8 port model?
Basically, I am thinking of using a Linksys SPA9000 as the PBX and just need
an Analog PSTN gateway for 4 to 8 FXO lines. It does not sound like the
Mediatrix 1204 does a very good job and I figure I can build a much more
