multihost master.passwd sync
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions about syncing up master.passwd files between multiple machines that didn't involve allowing root login remotely? The users need to be able to log in remotely and own files on the different machines. ~~ Andy Harrison ah##@httpsite.com ICQ: 123472 AIM/Y!: AHinMaine [full headers for details] -----BEGIN PGP

dovecot-lda without starting dovecot?
...; other processes. Indeed we have virtual users.? > > > While it might be possible to disable all the other services except master I > must ask why? How would the users be accessing their mails then? > > Sami Hello Sami, you did not read my first post. We are talking about a multihost installation where one host does SMTP and LDA, and the other does POP and IMAP (with dovecot). Now we want to use dovecot-lda for the local delivery _on the SMTP host_. So there is no need for open POP or IMAP ports and the corresponding running services. -- Regards, Stephan

Voicemail2
...icemail2 which is an enhanced scalability version of app_voicemail. Specifically, its features are: * Highly improved internal architecture (maybe someone else can actually code on it) * Foot print for getting mailboxes from DB (for Vonage) * Segmentable mailboxes, allowing you to truly multihost voicemail for multiple companies * Reads voicemail.conf only on startup and reload I'd really like people to help bang on it by replacing VoiceMail and VoiceMailMain in your config with VoiceMailMain2 and VoiceMail2 and try to make sure that it all works nicely for you. Thanks! Mark

Having multiple subnets on a single broadcast domain can be an interesting, inexpensive way to experiment with access control or simulate multihosting, but you don't want to do it for any longer than is necessary for experimental purposes.

Psst... Top secret information: Codename Pineapple
...ms being part of a larger SIP infrastructure. Forking, branching and such is not handled, as well as multiple transactions at the same time. The new channel will have configurations for "trunks", "services" and "phones". It will be more domain-focused to support multihosting better. It will have a proper SIP state machine so we can handle TCP and TLS alongside UDP. It will have STUN support, like the current Google talk channel. And a lot of other changes... Can I test this now? -------------------------- Don't expect this work to be completed yesterday....

can't reboot (debian)
...orks well, I just can't reboot machine correctly, it hangs up on "Will now reset" message. When I do reboot -f, it reboots correctly. When I press reset on "will now reset", everything boots up and joins the cluster. Shared storage is one disk connected with firewire as multihost. Writing from both nodes and everything else seem to work correctly, I just can't correctly reboot. Anyone knows, what could cause this? Juraj.

Centos 7 dhcpd failure to allow a 2nd network over same interal nic
> I have not been able to make any headway resolving this problem; Personally, I don't understand how you expect the DHCP server to decide which scope to use when a new connection appears on the network. DHCP discovery queries are presented from 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255, not to a particular network's broadcast address. I'd be interested to see what happens when one of your

...no, not another tool to solve the same problem!" Sorry Luke! After looking more thouroughly on it, and trying it out, I''m convinced that you have done a really good job of addressing the shortcomings of cfengine. Right now I''m trying it out on a single host, moving to multihost testing soon. But before I take that step, I want to see that puppet can accomplish some more of the tasks that I need this tool to do: 1. Security updates on a specific time of the day. I think I can do this with: schedule { maintenance: range => "6:30 - 8:30" } and set t...
