Request for Standardization: classical music TAGS
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- [ Sorry for sending this twice; I sent it to the vorbis-dev list by mistake. ] The ALBUM, ARTIST, TITLE, and TRACKNUMBER tags aren't sufficient for classical music. MP3 muffed it, but since Vorbis is so flexible, I'd like to propose that ogg123 recognize and display the following optional tags, instead of giving an error message that it doesn't recognize the tags. Oh, before I list the tags; I encourage comments and feedback, and Monty, if I was to provide a pat...

[patch] MD5 variable modifier
Hello, I've taken a different (better) approach to getting tpop3d-compatible UIDLs: the first attached patch (...md5_modifier.diff) adds a variable expansion modifier (%M) to return the md5sum of the expanded variable in hex. With the patch, you can get tpop3d-compatible UIDLs by setting pop3_uidl_format to %Mf. While testing interactions with other modifiers (e.g. %MUf to get the md5sum in

how to get inflection point in binomial glm
Dear All, I have a binomial response with one continuous predictor (d) and one factor (g) (8 levels dummy-coded). glm(resp~d*g, data, family=binomial) Y=b0+b1*X1+b2*X2 ... b7*X7 how can I get the inflection point per group, e.g., P(d)=.5 I would be grateful for any help. Thanks in advance, Ren?

UTF8_LANG: a much better idea
I've found a much better solution; it's standard (in Unicode itself), simple and more flexible: Unicode language tagging. It was made for just this purpose, in fact. A technical description is at http://www.unicode.org/unicode/reports/tr27/#tag which, like all specs, makes it sound a bit more complicated than it really is. It comes down to this: mark the language of text with U+E0001

puppet files denied by SELinux
Hi all, Thanks for all your suggestions. Here's where I'm at with this. Can you give details about your puppetmasterd setup ? it seems that > you're using Foreman as puppet ENC. > Yes, I'm on foreman 1.7.4 and puppet 3.75. You are correct that I'm using foreman, sorry I hadn't thought to mention it! > Foreman works fine with selinux enabled : that's what

...led dependencies It's actually a long list of errors that's too long to reproduce here. It'd go on for a couple pages at least. However if I turn off SELinux on the puppet master, everything returns to normal. Goes from utter chaos to complete order in an instant! So I guess I've muffed up my SELinux config on this puppet host. I just hope it's repairable at this point! I'd hate to leave it off just so that puppet will be able to do it's job. And of all the hosts that would need SELinux protection I would think that a puppet host would be one of the most important if n...

Best 1.5TB drives for consumer RAID?
Which consumer-priced 1.5TB drives do people currently recommend? I had zero read/write/checksum errors so far in 2 years with my trusty old Western Digital WD7500AAKS drives, but now I want to upgrade to a new set of drives that are big, reliable and cheap. As of Jan 2010 it seems the price sweet spot is the 1.5TB drives. As I had a lot of success with Western Digital drives I thought I would

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking
