SELinux
I have been struggling with getting my Fedora Linux clients to be able to
authenticate to a Microsoft AD in the past week and wonder how much of the
problem was due to SELinux. My Debian machines can accept AD logins and even
create home directories and dot files from /etc/skel. I know FC5 does PAM
differently than Debian, but I'm wondering, does anyone on this list have
winbind logins to FC5

Can WMI be used in WINE apps?
Hi,
After some googling I've found that there's very
little said about the possibility of using WMI from
Wine.
Has someone done any progress about it?
I find this subject very important; if you feel
interested here's why:
One may think this is a somehow fanciful intention,
after all WMI exists for the purpouse of administering
Windows, and no doubt that's best done from

[Bug 80] Host key conflict with two servers on one IP
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80
------- Additional Comments From eric-ossh at brouhaha.com 2002-08-22 04:57 -------
This "HostKeyAlias" business seems like a flimsy excuse for not implmeenting a
feature that users want. In this age of ubiquitous firewalls and NAT, it is NOT
reasonable to assume that two ports on the same IP address refer to the same
host, or to the

Printing Issues with NT type Clients.
Hi. To begin with, I have a freshly built RedHat Linux 8.0 box running samba 2.2.8a. The kernel version is 2.4.18-14. I downloaded and compiled samba from source. I am using LPRng-3.8.9-6 as my printing system. The attached printer is a Lexmark Z22 printer and it is attached to the parralel port.
Problem:
For the life of me, I can't get NT type clients, NT4, 2K and XP to print to samba.

AIX - Compilation issues with openssh
Hello Developers/users @AIX,
My Question:
What compiler and what configure-Options do you use to build the
ssh-Packages?
My Problem:
Logging in via self-built sshd: no problem
but when doing a second "ssh"-step to another host, the tty
is messed up:
jp $ su -
echos: su -
[and Password is visible... and cursor keys don't work...]
Problem occurs only when the first step

Samba, Win XP Not printing
I've been upgrading a client's systems from Win98SE to WinXP and am having an
unexpected problem.
I have 2 Linux servers. One is a print and fax server which has worked fine
with the Win98 workstations. They can browse and find the printer (an HP
LaserJet 5Si) and print without problems.
The server itself is also running HylaFax and is printing with out a problem.
The XP systems

ssh login through AD solution
Thanks to Anthony Ciarochi at Centeris for this solution.
I have a Centos (Red Hat-based) server that is now accessible to AD users
AND local users via ssh. I can control which AD groups can login using the
syntax below. Red Hat-based distros use "pam_stack" in pam.d which is quite
different than Debian's "include" based pam.d,
cat /etc/pam.d/sshd

while openssh-1.2.1pre25 ran out-of-the box, in openssh-1.2.1pre27 the

Since I'm not familiar with getaddrinfo, I've got no idea what goes wrong
