Filters in waveslim
Dear R Users, For running wavelet functions using dwt( ), modwt( ), and mra( ), a wavelet filter algorithm is applied. For all these functions, default is "la8" and other possibility is "haar". In related documents, another possibilities like as symlet and coiflet ... are not cited. Besides "la8" and "haar", which wavelet filte...

I used the following code for producing this boxplot: boxplot((fitted(finalfit4) *100) ~ instabilitydata2$MRI_Diag_Instab_rev, ylim=c(0,100), xlab="MRA diagnosis", ylab="Predicted probability (%)") Kind regards, Tobias [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

When I try to telnet mail.ut.ee 110/143 I get to see IMAP4/POP3 ready rather than Dovecot ready. ----------------- Queries ----------------- Shouldn't I get "Dovecot ready" message for remote servers as well? It is an MRA and we shouldn't be required to install it on remote servers, right? What should I do to make dovecot work for remote servers?

wavelets
I'm new to the topic of wavelets. When I tried to use the mra function in the wavelets package, the data is not getting compressed. eg. if the original data has 500 values , the output data also has the same. However in MATLAB, depending on the level of decompositon, the data gets compressed. How do I implement this in R? -- View this message in context: htt...

R scripts and parameters
A couple of weeks ago I asked how it is possible to run an R script (not a function) passing some parameters. Someone suggested the function "commandArgs()". I read the on-line help and found no clarifying example. Therefore I do not know how to use it appropriately. I noticed this function returns the pathname of the R executable which is not what I need. I meant to ask if it is

Airon, I don't think you have to find an English computer 'cause the following must work in your Chinese one :-) Let me explain. First of all, change your lines to xdata <- ckhdat$Adj..Close[1:1447] #names(ckhdwt.la8) <- c("w1", "w2", "w3", "w4", "w5","w6", "v6") note the # sign, i.e., DO NOT change the names

Need help in waveslim package: imodwt and universal.thresh.modwt
Hi: I have encountered problems with imodwt and universal.thresh.modwt and cannot find any reference in R Search. Hope someone can give me some ideas: Starting with modwt.la8 <- modwt(xdata, "la8", n.level=6) <-- this seems to work fine (1) ydata <- imodwt(modwt.la8) will always give ydata as numeric(0) (no values) instead of being a time series data with

plot points using vis.gam
Hello, I'm trying to illustrate the relationships between various trait and environment data gathered from a number of sites. I've created a GAM to do this: gam1=gam(trait~s(env1)+s(env2)+te(env1,env2)) and I know how to create a 3D plot using vis.gam. I want to be able to show points on the 3D plot indicating the sites that the data came from. I can do this on a 2D plot when there is one
