HP Proliant ML150 : how do I access disks ?
Hi,
Up until now, I've only installed Linux either on "desktop" hardware,
meaning one of the desktop PCs in the LAN acted as a server machine for
the network, or I rented some dedicated server somewhere in a datacenter.
Last week I bought some server hardware, a used HP Proliant ML150. It's
the first time I am dealing with this sort of hardware. The hardware was
sold "as is", without any warranty.
When I open the front cache, there are six small "drawers", and the
bottom two of them each contain a 72 GB hard disk.
I inserted a CentOS 5.4 install CD (...

Hardware Raid cards RAID 0 / 1
Last week we tried to install Centos on a brand new HP ML150 G2 with
AIC-8130/ Marvell SATA Raid card and it was a no go. We tried a few other
flavors of Linux as a test and all had trouble as well. Unfortunately time
didn't permit so we opted for a Windows solution to get the box into
production.
We have never had a problem with IDE and Embedded SAT...

Booting from a real cdrom
Hi everyone!
I''m sorry, I think I''m missing something obvious, but I can''t figure out what :/
I have a CentOS 5.2 dom0 on a HP Proliant ML150 with
- kernel 2.6.18-92.1.18.el5xen
- Xen 3.2.1
and I''m trying to boot a domU installation from the CentOS DVD.
I made a custom initrd with
mkinitrd /boot/initrd-vm `uname -r` --with xenblk --with xennet --preload xenblk --preload xennet
and symlinked /boot/vmlinuz-`uname -r` to /boot/...

Cannot read from the source file or disk
Hi everybody,
I'm very glad to meet you. Congratulations to Samba staff, for them open
source software is well known as high quality product.
I've got a problem now, since I changed of server. First of all, my old
server HP ML330 G3 suffered a little problem, and was replaced by an HP
ML150 G2. The older server had RedHat 9 installed with Samba 3.22. This
server runs Fedora Core 5 and Samba 3.23c. The older server never
experienced any problem with Samba. With this server I'm having a nightmare.
When I browse over my files, some files do not have the correct filename.

Is HP server hardware incompatible with Xen?
Hi,
We''ve been using xen with pc clones for some time now.
But now the boss wants to get serious and start using real servers.
We''ve been looking at HP.
I got in touch with a couple of distributors for prices and much to my
suprise, I''ve been told by one HP Partner that Xen does not run on HP
hardware. (a ProLiant ML 150)
He continued to tell me that he could offer me

rhel4 + samba 3.0.21a + win2k3 server and sp1
Well, it looks like we are stuck...
I can't figure out what to do next.
ads_connect: Program lacks support for encryption type
here's the whole story:
We've been using winbind successfully for over a year now,
rhel3 variants(scientific linux 3), some run rhel3's default samba,
others use the packages from http://enterprisesamba.com/
we started out using the NT4 compatability
