Misreported values with newhidups
Okay, now that I've got NUT up and running with the newhidups driver, I can
give it a quick shakedown.
Most of the values look good, but are few are off. Here's what I get:

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 7 install fails -ve memory reported
...ke -1022Mb memory.
Then the install allows me to withdraw gracefully, no crashes or other problems.
This behaviour happens under Wine 1.00 from the Ubuntu repository and under Wine 1.1.6.
My guess is that the Dragon installer is not able to recognise 3GB and is therefore unable to install, having misreported the total memory as a negative quantity.
Please, is there a command line option I can use when invoking Wine which will limit the amount of memory the Dragon installer can 'see'?
I would love to get Dragon 7 running under Ubuntu because it is the only reason I still have a dual boot machi...

rpm -q versus what's installed
I am trying to install Oracle client 10g (10.2.0) on a 64-bit CentOS 5.0
system.
'rpm -q make gcc glibc etc' reveals some packages as "not installed", yet
a yum install <package name> consistently returns Nothing to do. Yum list
available <package name> yields nothing needed.
If rpm -q <list of packages> lists some that are "not installed" but

wine reports wrong version
I have been running, first, codeweaver's wine and, just recently I built
and installed wine-20010918-1. Nonetheless, no matter which version I have
had, doing a "wine --version" produces "Wine release 20010824".
I have uninstalled wine before switching from one version to another.
Doing "rpm -qa |grep wine" shows only wine-20010918-1 installed. Somewhere

zpool will not import on a different controller
I want to move my pool (consisting of five 1.5TB sata drives in raidz1) to a
different computer. I am encountering issues with controllers - the
motherboard (Asus P5BV-C/4L) has 8 sata ports: 4 on a marvell 88se6145,
which seems not to be supported at all; and 4 on intel 82801G, which uses
the pci-ide driver.
I added a 4-port pci sata card, a Silicon Image 3114, which appeared to

Tripp-Lite OMNI650LCD
Hello all; I am new to this list.
Recently we have been getting these cheap new Tripp-Lite
"LCD" style UPS'es around here, and I was surprised to
find the lack of Linux support. The model name is OMNI650LCD.
Anyway, I tried the tripplite_usb driver and got a message
instructing me to contact this mailing list.
I might try to fix the problem myself, if I was more familiar

[lldb-dev] lldb stops on every call to dlopen
It is interesting that the stop reason on the thread that stopped is "trace". That's what you would expect returning from the single-step to step over the breakpoint. But it looks like we got a signal while single-stepping, but the stop reason was misreported by somebody.

problem solved... sort of. not sure why 1.0.2 should be any
different except for the different versions of automake/libtool
I used to build the source release.

Ices 0.4 ices.cue file error
After several days of uninterupted operation (about 4 or 5 days I believe),
ices-0.4 starts to return this error countless times:
"Could not open cuefile [/tmp/ices.cue] for writing, cuefile not updated"
This error eventually causes the stream to misreport the name of the
currently playing song. Instead of reporting the current song, it reports
the song found in the now defunct cue
