Protecting folders
Hi. Is it possible to prevent certain folders from being deleted via IMAP using Dovecot? I don't want to write protect the folders, just prevent people from deleting their Junk, Trash, Drafts, etc. -- Daniel Mikkelsen Copyleft Software AS

Separate auth for pop and imap
...ckends for POP and IMAP for a single Dovecot instance? Or does this require two separate dovecot instances with separate config files? Specifically, I want to have one database query for IMAP and one for POP so that I can let these be separate features that I can flag in a database. -- Daniel Mikkelsen Copyleft Software AS

Ignore leave on server
Hi. Is it possible to ignore "leave on server" for POP3 clients? That is, always delete all downloaded mail automatically? -- Daniel Mikkelsen Copyleft Software AS

Building 2.1.rc1 with cluence, but without libstemmer
...t is dovecot 2.1.rc1 intended to be used against? Is it worth bringing the wrapper class around libstemmer into dovecot to avoid funny dependencies against clucene and so that the -lstemmer test in configure is enough? For reference, I'm building on FreeBSD 9.0-RC3, system gcc. NTLM authentication with squid using smbpasswd/tdbsam?
...Question: Is is possible to use ntlm_auth/winbind for authentication against an smbpasswd or tdbsam backend? Is there another way that I'm missing? In case it matters, this is on FreeBSD, 6.2 and 5.3. Guidance appreciated, even if it is "go over to the squid list"! Thanks, Jan Mikkelsen

2.2.16 link failure on FreeBSD 10.1, with patch
...charset/Makefile.in resolves the problem for me and seems broadly correct. libcharset.a does depend on libiconv so it should probably be declared that way. There is probably a more correct way to make the patch to Makefile.am, but I don't really use automake. Hopefully helpful to someone. Jan Mikkelsen. hangin when listing named pipes
Hi Even when you are not opening the pipe, but just listing it in cygwin, or trying to see the properties in explorer, you will have this problem: Does anybody know how to disable named pipes in samba? Or how you can kill the connection from the client side? And no, setting "nt pipe support" to no, doesn't fix the problem. /Kaj Symptom: Samba daemon hanging when trying to open

How to get djbdns to start early enough to satisfy ntpd at boot?
Hi there, I've been a happy djbdns+tinydns user for many, many years. I want to keep using it, so answers of the form "bletch! Use ISC BIND the way BSD intended" will be ignored :-) Having said that, one annoying consequence of my transition some time ago to using ntpd, rather than just setting the clock once-off with ntpdate as I used to, is that the /etc/rc.d mechanism starts

Help with filing a [maybe] ZFS/mmap bug.
Hi All, I have what I think is a ZFS related bug. Unfortunately my simplest test case is a bit cumbersome and I haven't definitively proven that the problem is ZFS related. I'm hoping for some feedback on how to move forward. Quick background: I rip my CD's using grip and produce flac files. I tag the music using Musicbrainz' Picard and transcode it to mp3's within Picard
