[jakob@crt.se: Re: [PATCH] Maildir support]
...ervers and mail clients support it. If that MAIL variable is set wrong. This needs to be fixed and patched for both formats. As he said in the original patch, whether you want to support the MAIL var is another question, but if you're going to, it should be done correctly for both mbox and mailder. By the way, can someone fix the configure for Solaris, so that it doesn't use this? #define MAILDIR "/var/mail/" ----- Forwarded message from Jakob Schlyter <jakob at crt.se> ----- Delivered-To: openssh-unix-dev-list-93873 at shitei.mindrot.org Date: Mon, 13 Aug...

dsync backup public namespace - how?
Hello, We just celebrated the launch of our new mailserver setup (Dovecot and Postfix). Really nice! Now we want to change our quickfix backup with rsync to dsync. For mailder backup of users this was an easy task: dsync -v -f -u "${user}" backup "maildir:${destination}" (local file path destination) We use many public folder with ACL and now we are wondering how we can backup these folder in a similar manner: a) dsync -u doveadm at domain.com back...

Is this an index problem?
...sing gigabit network (ie. it ain't the network). * Yes, we did all the things on the Outlook side -thinking that is where the problem lays. Rebuild the .pst file, had Outlook re-index, compacted the .pst file, etc. So now I'm thinking that maybe I need to just wipe out all of the ~/Mailder/dovecot* files (including all those in sub-directories) and let it all reindex. Which begets 3 questions: (1) will this help? (2) anyone have a shell script that will remove all those dovecot* files from the user's directory AND all the sub-directories? (3) Any other suggestions I might be...

Possible bug in shared namespace variable?
...X=~/Maildir/Shared/%%n subscriptions = no list = children } This works perfectly, but for some reason the %%n variable in the location maildir is blank. Everywhere else %%n is used works (e.g. the prefix and INDEX). This means for the shared mailbox under support at mailbox.com I get a folder Mailder in the domain folder: /var/vpopmail/domains/mailbox.com/Maildir instead of /var/vpopmail/domains/mailbox.com/support/Maildir. Has anyone else come across this?

changing INTERNALDATE or similar
I have a question which others must have encountered. I switched from uw-imap to dovecot-imap a few months ago and moved my fairly large mail archive (~15 yrs) by simply mounting both accounts in a mail app and simply copying my folders over. This worked well, and all my mail is in order when I view it in evolution or thunderbird on any number of machines. However, since our company uses MS

Sql user and maildirs
...user_query = select 89 as uid, 89 as gid, concat('/usr/local/virtual/', maildir, 'Maildir') as home FROM mailbox where username = '%u' The only ?recent? change I?ve made to my configuration was creating the Maildir/ subfolder for all the virtual users instead of using the ?mailder? from the sql table (that is, I added ?, ?Maildir?? to the concat, but that was quite awhile ago. I?m pretty sure I?d have noticed this before. Is that user_query as it should be or should I set concat('/usr/local/virtual/', maildir) as home and also set concat(?maildir:/usr/local/virtual...
