User.new doesn´t capture all of the parameters
Hi,
I have a page where I can add new users to the database, but it only
sees whats in the name and passord field.
add_user.rhtml:
<%= form_tag %>
<%= form_tag :action => ''add_user'' %>
<td>User name:</td>
<td><%= text_field("user", "name") %></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Password:</td>

When adding a record in console, a parameter comes in as null even when I set it
In console, I am trying to create a User but the :account_id does not come
in. Console just gives me back :account_id => nil. Obviously I''m trying to
set it though. Silly console...
But, I can set the account_id column in my controller like so:
@user = User.new(params[:user])
@user.account_id = account.id
@user.save
Here''s what I give to the controller:
User.create :name

ruby suitable for financial apps?
hi there,
I am about to embark on a mission critical financial web application,
and was wondering weather ruby on rails is the best fit for this type
of project.
More specifically I am worried about floating point errors. Would it be
more appropriate to use a more statically typed framework (.NET)?
