CentOS 4.1 - 'Older' JVM Issues
Hi Just installing a machine to replace our dev server. Currently the dev server runs many different JVM versions depending on the app the developer is working on. Some of these require older versions of java. Newer versions work fine out of the box, eg 1.4.x however i'm running into the following issue when trying to run apps against 1.3.1_02 which i have to be able to run on this box

Ajax.InPlaceEditor: controls.js update
I''m not sure if this is a bug or not, but I had to patch controls.js file to accommodate the idea that I had planned. I had to combine Ajax.InplaceEditor and AutoCompleter for a "tagging" feature at my office. With the autocompleter, I need to target an INPUT FIELD by ID. However the generated INPUT field from the Ajax.InPlaceEditor did not include this attribute in

I cannot for the life of me figure out what's going on. Can anyone out there spot the loony? I must be doing something dumb, *somewhere*, but I can't see it. The fact that I'm getting different answers on different occasions suggests a memory leak somewhere. Or a failure to initialize something ... but where? With eternal gratitude for any enlightenment, cheers, Rolf Tu...

Opteron Mobo Suggestions
I've been planning to build a dual Opteron server for awhile. I'd like to get people's suggestions on a suitable motherboard. I've looked at the Tyan K8SE (S2892) and K8SRE (S2891) but would like to find more Linux-specific experiences with these boards. Some features I expect are at least 4 SATA (SATA-300?) ports, serial console support in the BIOS, USB 2.0 and IEEE-1394

From: Rodrigo Barbosa <rodrigob at suespammers.org> > Btw, don't quote me on this one :) > I'm only 90% sure of the hotswapping capabilities, and less than 50% > sure about the price :) There _are_ systems with hot-swap CPUs, memory and/or, PCI[-X] slots. They are _not_ commodity and pricey, and require OS-level support. In fact, I believe Linux 2.6 has some support for

Any interest in a Canadian Asterisk mailing list?
Just on the off chance that Canadian Asterisk users might be interested in a place to discuss topics specific to the "great white north" (sources, services, telcos, etc.), I created the asterisk-canada mailing list: http://lists.syonex.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-canada or asterisk-canada-subscribe@lists.syonex.com Cheers! The Origins of R
In another thread on this list, various wild allegations have been made, relating to the New York Times article on R. I object both to the subject line and to the content of several of the messages, and will not repeat or quote any of that content. It smacks to me of mischief making. Discussion has centered around the following quote from the NY Times article: ?According to them, the

5.3 on an EeePC??
I have an ASUS EeePC 701 (with 2GB of RAM and an 8 GB card), on which I've installed CentOS on the hard-drive-plus-card. But it can't even use my eth0. Some one on a local LUG, where I had mentioned that other OSs did fine with all the same exact hardware, suggested that CentOS, being designed for stability rather than the bleeding edge, likely lacks drivers; so I need to get
