Samba 4.1.7 AD DC - Local Administrator == Domain Administrator ?!?
...tor', too) can do all the things the 'DOMAIN/Administrator' can do, too. I can browse all network shares and see and modify access rights without ever being asked for a password, despite the fact the user is just logged-in locally. The W7 box is domain member, however. But: the 'LOCALPC/Administrator' is not a domain user and NEITHER in the 'Domain Users' NOR in the 'Domain Administrators' group and is surely NOT entitled to have those superpowers, IMNSHO. How come? Security bug? Or am I'm not aware of some arcane Windows behaviour? Regards, Peter

Samba PDC + ACL : default ACLs ignored on directory
...pretty good, all but the directory copy, wich forget ACLs in a particular case : When a client copy a local directory on a samba share, the defaults ACLs aren't applied. But this problem comes only when the client local directory owner is DOMAIN\USER. If the client local directory owner is LOCALPC\USER, the default ACLs are applied during the copy. In fact I wonder if this is the normal behavior of Samba : if the owner is the domain user, perhaps samba try to copy the ACLs with the file? But that's not what I want samba does. I would like that the only the default ACLs to be applied....

xp clients can't auth after reboot without smb restart
I currently have several fresh installs of XP that will connect to shares, but will not reconnect after a workstation reboot. These are workstations that are not joined to the domain. Only accessing shares from a local profile, but using the same user/pass to login as to connect to Samba. I get various errors at that point. Upon reboot, attempting to access the share generates: "An error
