qemu-kvm for Centos 5 x86

"upstream doesn't support it", but from what I gather, it *is* possible.
I've tried downloading the KVM source, but get nailed on compile with:

[PATCH 0/9] x86 boot protocol updates
[ This patch depends on the cross-architecture ELF cleanup patch. ]
This series updates the boot protocol to 2.07 and uses it to implement
paravirtual booting. This allows the bootloader to tell the kernel
what kind of hardware/pseudo-hardware environment it's coming up under,
and the kernel can use the appropriate boot sequence code.

[PATCH RFC 0/7] proposed updates to boot protocol and paravirt booting
This series:
1. Updates the boot protocol to version 2.07
2. Clean up the existing build process, to get rid of tools/build and
make the linker do more heavy lifting
3. Make the bzImage payload an ELF file. The bootloader can extract
this as a naked ELF file by skipping over boot_params.setup_sects worth
of 16-bit setup code.

Hi there,
I''ve just built xen & dom0 kernel from gentoo ebuilds (bugs.gentoo.org),

Any help is appreciated. Console log, grub.conf and .config are included,
machine is celeron/466, 128MB of RAM.

[PATCH 00/18] Allow architectures to override __READ_ONCE()
Hi all,
This is version three of the patches I previously posted here:
v1: https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/20191108170120.22331-1-will at kernel.org/
v2: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20200630173734.14057-1-will at kernel.org
Changes since v2 include:
* Actually add the barrier in READ_ONCE() for Alpha!
* Implement Alpha's smp_load_acquire() using __READ_ONCE(), rather than

[PATCH 00/10] paravirt/subarchitecture boot protocol
This series updates the boot protocol to 2.07 and uses it to implement
paravirtual booting. This allows the bootloader to tell the kernel
what kind of hardware/pseudo-hardware environment it's coming up under,
and the kernel can use the appropriate boot sequence code.
Specifically:
- Update the boot protocol to 2.07, which adds fields to specify the
hardware subarchitecture and some

[PATCH 00/18] Allow architectures to override __READ_ONCE()
Hi everyone,
This is the long-awaited version two of the patches I previously
posted in November last year:
https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/20191108170120.22331-1-will at kernel.org/
I ended up parking the series while the READ_ONCE() implementation was
being overhauled, but with that merged during the recent merge window
and LTO patches being posted again [1], it was time for a refresh.
