Joining Linux to a samba4 DC?
Hello,
I'm running a test setup with samba4 and a windows7 client which works fine
so far.
Now I try to also join a Linux machine to get a single sign-on setup.
However, this does not work. All I get is the following:
root at linuxclient:~# net ads -U Administrator join
Enter Administrator's password:
kinit succeeded but ads_sasl_spnego_krb5_bind failed: Invalid credentials
Failed to join domain: failed to connect to AD: Invalid credentials
Samba on both sides of the story is 4.1.3 from debian backports.
Here is what /etc/sam...

winbind and groups
I've got Samba 2.2.2 and winbind up and running fine
between a TurboLinux server and an NT 4.0 PDC. I can
"chown" files on the linux box fine using "$chown
DOMAIN+username filename" but when i try to change an
objects group using "$chgrp DOMAIN+groupname filename"
i get errors stating that it is an invalid group name.
What's the deal here? None of my group

Samba 4.3.9 member server problem in classic domain
...upgraded to 4.3.9,
same problem) Since I had to roll back my Synology appliance to a
previous OS, and reviewing other posts, I am quite certain this is due
to the BADLOCK patch.
The BADLOCK patch seems to make signing the default behavior unless
explicitly disabled.

win98-samba2.0.7 = Network collisions
Hi,
I have an Samba 2.0.7 Fileserver on my RedHat 7.0 Linuxbox
Access to the shares with an Linuxclient - all works fine.
When I use an Win98 or WIN ME client, I've got many network collisions.
(Same file and share)
Any ideas ?
Thereis only one socket option set in my smb.conf: socket option = TCP_NODELAY
Network = 100MBit/s Ethernet
Changing of NICs,cables or Hub doesnt't resolve the Problem...

...wins support = Yes

I've configured the linux client and added it to the domain by:
Setting it's host name to linuxclient,
Compiling the samba software from source (2.2.5) in the source directory
with:
./configure --with-winbind
make
make install
make nsswitch
Copied libnss_winbind.so to /lib
Created a link:
ln -s /lib/libnss_winbind.so /lib/libnss_winb...

Redirected folders no longer working correctly
I have a new problem. I'm currently running Samba4 4.4.16 as an AD/DC. I've been running this
AD/DC for several years now. I am using redirected folders. Up to now, domain users logging
onto any domain member Windows workstation would get their desktop. Recently I discovered that
users now only get their desktop on their "usual" workstation, and the Desktop Target is in
fact

Neverwinter Nights thru Wine
Hi all,
Installed NWN and it plays kind of choppy with no sound. I then wanted to
uninstall it but it keeps giving me a 0x800000 something or other fault.
it seems to have brought all the gibbly goop from windoze with it. How
can I uninstall it? I can't even find where it installed to so I can
manually get rid of it.
TIA,
Chuz
