I have tried broadcasting from both SuSE Linux and Slackware and with various programs being the last one Tim`s Mixice (which is a perl script that works along with a program called catdsp). Looking at the source I saw that this programs, both of them, try to open /dev/dsp. Now, my question is if /dev/dsp is the standard device for the line-in of the audio card? fixed point speex on a texas dsp + real time acquizition
...an be a good choice because fixed-point have been developed. I would want to know how I can choose the fixed point in the program I want to know if it is possible to do a real time acquizition and to compresse in real time the audio input signal. By example, I have on my demonstration card an audio linein input. If I send an audio source (PC sound card output) on this input, does speex will be able to compress this signal in real time and to store it in a hard disk integrated to the demonstration card? TO test that, i would want to send an audio source to my sound card input and I would want do th...

audio recorder compatibility

Secondly, connecting to my laptop... I've got a sound card, but it doesn't have LineIn, just mike and headphone jacks; neither of these is good for input, but... Many audio recorders these days connect with USB (which I've got), so that's the most likely connection path. Given these parameters, does anyone have good experiences with a really small audio recorder and offload...

I've got the icecast2 server set up, and to date have streamed playlists only via ices0 or ices2, now I'm wanting to stream live using winamp. Software wise, I'm needing to use free or open source software, the icecast2 server is a Linux machine, the Winamp will be on either a Win7 or a WinXP

Hi folks! Having trouble with re-encoding to 160Kbps. Line input to client for Icecast Server
My needs are simple. I need a Windows client to accept the line input on my sound board and stream it to an Icecast server. I plan to encode the stream at 56kbps stereo. I gave up, but now I'm back hoping the technology (and documentation) is there. My
