Migration question: .INBOX?
...owever, I discovered a mail folder .INBOX without cur, new and tmp subfolders, and the .imap.index files were rather old (feb 2006). Is this an old relic from early dovecot versions (I once ran 0.99 on this old server)? Or is it old client software? There are no data in it. Default dirs in ./configure?
...efix? Maybe I'm old-school, but isn't /etc and /var, respectively, a better default than /usr/local? Should require two new variables in the configure script, though. (and yes, I know I set them with --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var --sharedstatestatedir=/var ) /Peter -- Peter Lindgren http://www.norrskenkonsult.com

Move from 1.0.rc29 to 1.1.7?
...hen needed. Ok? 3) 1.0.rc29 did not store the message size in the file name as later versions. When will Dovecot do the check and rename the files to include the message size? There are some folders with quite large number of messages, the largest is some 45,000 messages. TIA, /Peter -- Peter Lindgren http://www.norrskenkonsult.com

HowTo: Samba with ADS security in CentOS 5

Basically it's a combination of http://www.howtoforge.com/samba_ads_security_mode and http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/winbind.html, with additions that actually make things work. Dell problems with PXELINUX 3.62
...models (17 at the moment), version 3.61 is fine for us (we use memdisk from 3.84 for ISO support), but the ideal situation would be if our GX280:s could use 3.84 (or later). Since the problem seems to be in pxelinux.0, we can't simply add another menu item for GX280. Any ideas? Cheers, Daniel Lindgren

RandomForest Proximity Matrix
..... My question is, does the randomForest module in R allow for this choice in proximity matrices generated by the algorithm? If so, can someone please point me in the direction of how to implement it? That would be great! Many thanks in advance and best wishes from Alaska! OT: P(Z <= -1.46).
In checking over the solutions to some homework that I had assigned I observed the fact that in R (version 2.4.0) pnorm(-1.46) gives 0.07214504. The tables in the text book that I am using for the course give the probability as 0.0722. Fascinated, I scanned through 5 or 6 other text books (amongst the dozens of freebies from publishers that lurk on my shelf) and found that some agree with R

Copying from a previous Dovecot server
...plate folder to a new folder, and then copy the cur folder contents? The files that Dovecot creates in an empty folder have different contents, will Dovecot update them when the user retrieves the mails in that folder? Or, can I just make a symlink to the old Maildir somewhere? Peter -- Peter Lindgren peter at norrskenkonsult.com 0703-393940

Problems with 4.04-pre14
Hello. I've been testing pxelinux.0 (4.04-pre14) on some laptops: - HP EliteBook 6930P with BIOS F.18. - HP EliteBook 8440P with BIOS F.06. - Dell Latitude E4310 with BIOS A06. When booting pxelinux.0, the machines first display some random letters in different colors and then reboot. We've been using 4.02 for some time without problems. I've tested 4.03 too and it seems to work.

RFD: Internationalizing the menu system
I know quite a few people have interest in internationalizing the menu system. This is a tricky problem, since have a full-blown rendering engine for the more complex languages (Indic, Semitic and East Asian languages being the main ones that have substantial complexities.) Given that, I was thinking that the most sensible thing might be to pre-render strings (basically menu items and
