Cannot create macvlan devices on this platform
...ces on this platform"
That's astonishing because I can easily setup working macvlan devices
using the "ip" command: "ip link add link eth0 type macvlan".
Would someone help me figure out the reason?
Thanks in advance

(Live) Migration safe vs. unsafe
Hi all,
virsh checks whether a (live) migration is safe or unsafe. When a
migration is considered to be unsafe it is rejected unless the --unsafe
option is prodivided.
As a part of those checks virsh considers the cache settings for the
underlying storage resources. In this context only cache="none" is
considered to be safe.
I wonder why cache="directsync" might be harmfull

Passing dhcp-options

Is there any other solution? Using DHCP to configure clients does not
make sense when parts (WINS) of the IP configurations need to be hard
coded in the clients.

PCI Passthrough
...art <vm>
changes that to 16.
Nearly every document about PCI passthrough claims that unshared
interrupts are required. But how can this be achieved? (My BIOS supports
interrupt remapping for VT-d. This setting is enabled.)
Thanks in advance

rsync fails to write write xattr user.rsync
Hi all,
I'm trying to setup rsync for backup purpose.
Both client and server (storage) are using rsync 3.0.7 delivered by
Debian Squeeze.
The client invokes rsync using ssh (as root):
Backup:
rsync --archive --delete --exclude-from=/etc/backup.excludes
--numeric-ids --relative --rsh=ssh / backup at example.com::backup/
Restore:
rsync --archive --delete --numeric-ids --relative --rsh=ssh
