signal 11 on fsck

This problem occured after upgrade to kernel 2.4.18-17.7, backed out to
previous version now (2.4.9-34). All other system RPMs are up to date
according to RHN, and nothing, aside from Apache/PHP, is compiled from sources.
The problem:

Cannot re-make a software raid pair
....
The currently running disk is hda and I am trying to add back hdg - both are
master drives on separate controllers.
I have run fdisk on hdg and created the same partition structure as had and
changed their types to 'fd' but when I try and rebuild the array I get:
mdadm /dev/md0 -a /dev/hdg1
mdadm: hot add failed for /dev/hdg1: Invalid argument
If I look at /var/log/messages, I have:
Oct 5 16:04:39 petdoctors kernel: md: could not bd_claim hdg1.
Oct 5 16:04:39 petdoctors kernel: md: error, md_import_device() returned

SMART Prefailure Attribute messages
Hello,
My machine is running Software RAID 5 on /dev/hde1, /dev/hdg1,/dev/hdi1. I
noticed on the log that suddenly we are getting messages such as :

Attribute: 8 Seek_Time_Performance changed from 247 to 246

I'm sure the data is still there, it's just eluding me. sadly I don't
know how to find it. Thought I found dump2fs which tells me that it
needs recovery. don't know how much help this will give:

Ext3 Journal corruption on hitachi deskstars
I recently came across an enormous cluster of x86 clone machines running
fedora core 1 (2.4.24) which have typically all intel or amd have VIA IDE
chipsets.
They frequently experience corrupted journals rendering the ext3 partition
in read-only mode. More important than recovering the filesystem, I am
interested in finding the root of the problem.
The common hardware that all of these

Not enough disk space error?
Hi,
I have installed Samba on a Debian machine. I have created 2 shares on these
filesystems:
/dev/hde3 71G 33M 71G 1% /storage/1
/dev/hdg1 75G 8.8G 66G 12% /storage/2
As you can see, both have in excess of 60GB free space.
When I try to copy files to the filesystems via Samba, an artificial limit
is being imposed - at around 8.8GB. From windows I get the error "Not enough
disk space" when I try to create/c...
