resolution (dpi) problem
...Your manuscript has been unsubmitted because you failed to meet the
submission guidelines as indicated below:
-Your figures must be submitted in TIFF or EPS format according to the
following minimum resolutions:
1200 dpi for black and white line art (simple bar graphs, charts, etc.)
300dpi for halftones (black and white photographs) 600dpi for combination
halftones (Photographs that also contain line art such as labeling or thin
lines)
Does anyone know how to produce the correct settings for the journal (i.e.
1200 dpi)?
Thankyou

hatch or line fill
M. Camanm posted in Jul 1999 the following message:

lines, or a halftone gray rather than (semi) continuous-tone gray
produced by gray()? S allows this, or at least
used to, via the angle and density arguments to barplot(). The objective
of course, is to produce camera

pattern on bars?
Colors are real nice, but the publication I'm preparing these barplots for
permits only black and white. The Splus plot options ``dbangle'' (or plain
``angle'') and ``density'' (as on p. 65 of MASS 1st ed.) don't seem to be
available in R. Is there another way to do this?
I'm running R 1.1.0 on Linux (intel). Thanks.

ogg pic format (again).. here's why
I sent a little mail some time ago asking if there was going to be an ogg
pic-format, and you replied that PNG, MNG and JNG is good enough (sorry for
this late answer btw).. But, consider this: The ogg video-format (tarkin ?
where do you get these names from anyway ? :) ) needs a way to compress its
frames. Are you going to use MNG for that ? :) ..
If you had an ogg pic format, that format could
