How do I build a modified rpm (Another newbie question)?
I made a minor change to the XFS package (in the unpacked source files), but I can't figure out which rpmbuild option to use to build from that changed source file (instead of re-unpacking all the source files, overwriting all the source files, etc.). Please assist/explain. Thanks.

New VLC (0.8.6) packages?
Anyone know where I could find this package for Centos 4.4 x86_64? I've googled all over and haven't been able to find anything more current the 0.8.4a. I'm not much of a programmer, but if someone could point me at a "packaging for dummies" perhaps I could have a go at creating a package if one doesn't already exist? Cheers,

How to create an R RPM from source
I use some computers that run older versions of Redhat Linux such as EL3. RPMs for the current version of R are no longer provided via CRAN for these older operating system versions. How can I compile my own RPM for the current version of R, which I could then use to install R quickly and easily on multiple machines? Perhaps the answer to this would be a useful addition to the manual R

RHEL6 cgroup error after a few days of uptime
I have a RHEL6 that hosts many kvm virtual machines. It has been working fine for a couple years. I apply errata updates about once a week. In the last couple weeks, I've ran into a bug where the virtual machines start failing to start with a cgroup error message. If I reboot the host (very disruptive) then things start working normaly for a few days. Can I configure qemu/libvirt not to use
