first crack at auto-trash plugin
.... As of yet the folder is not created if it doesn't exist (the process fails before expunge). I would appreciate feedback of any sort. In addition, I am currently getting an error I haven't been able to puzzle out in the logs when it runs: Mar 21 15:22:01 david dovecot: imap(david at grayskies.net): Timeout leak: 0x807fad0 I see that it seems to relate to transactions somehow, but my few hours of playing with dovecot haven't given me the answer - so ideas/patches to the code would also be nice. You can grab it here: http://wrath.grayskies.net/tarballs/auto-trash.tar.gz -David

dvd decrypter 'No Devices Detected!' error
I found this wiki page (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=2587) as well as few posts in these forums about this very issue that I am experiencing with DVD Decrypter on Wine 1.0.1 under Ubuntu/Intrepid. The wiki recommends adding the following to ~/.wine/config (which doesn't exist for me). I make a file called ~/,wine/config and inserted the below text but it

For example, how would one block all outgoing traffic from any program under ~/.wine You need something like AppArmor or SELinux. How to use them is not a Wine question; ask on your distro support forum.

ssh tunneling
I have read several HOWTO's online that indicate one should be able to access a samba share over an ssh tunnel from a windows box with the following steps: 1. Stop the File and Print sharing services on the windows box 2. Create an ssh tunnel from the windows box to the samba server (port 139) 3. Connect to the samba server as if it were on 127.0.0.1 Unfortunately, doing this on any of my

multiple users on LINUX - way to share a single .wine
Basically, I'd like to have just one .wine dir on my file system that multiple users on LINUX can share thus allowing me to keep a single install of my windows apps. The default is to install to /home/CURRENT_USER/.wine so I'm wondering, as long as the LINUX users are in the same group, can I relocate the .wine dir to say, /home/share/.wine and update the wineconfig? I just started using

I am moving a courier installation over to Dovecot and I am wondering if there is a way to set Dovecot to automatically move purged items to trash (under IMAP). Additionally, is there a way to automatically delete old items from a Trash folder? -David

Re: denying internet access to a win32 app?
I'd like to do it to simply keep some apps from connecting out. Can you teach me how to do it to all apps across the ~/.wine dir since you indicated that would be simple?

minor connection problem under Windows 98
We run a small LAN of about 20 computers that use a Linux system running samba as their central disk server. Everything works as expected 95% of the time, but occasionally one of the client machines will be unable to connect to the central disk when booting. There doesn't seem to be any real correspondence to machine load (which never dips below 80% idle anyway) or the number of currently

How feasible would it be to build a phone recorder with Asterisk (takes a number of analog phone lines in and records them when there is conversation). Has such a thing already been done or are there aspects of such a thing that would require significant changes to Asterisk to handle? -David Powers
