trying to get better ogg quality for this clip
hi folks, in my (unlucky) first test of ogg vs other encoders, i found a
case where wma and mp3pro sound much better than ogg at 64k. can anyone
suggest a setting that i haven't tried yet that can rival the wma and
mp3pro samples at 64k? it's the "gravel effect" that is troublesome.
the part in question is the first 15 seconds of this wave file:
http://qa01.live365.com/jlg/VH_simple.wav
this piece starts with a stereo guitar that is rich in harmonic content
(like chimes) with some flanging/chorus/delay type effects. way in the

I also have 1 column with year the data was recorded. I want to create a bar
plot that plots all 8 variables grouped by treatment and year.
I've tried creating subsets of each of the variables, no luck.
My variables are arranged similar to this:

67.5 2.0 6
67.5 2.5 9

Multiple regression intercept
...interpretive the multiple regression output. I
would like to know what it means when one of the factors is assigned as the
intercept?
In my data I am looking at the relationship between environmental parameters
and biological production.
One of my variables in the analysis is substratum type and gravel is
identified as the intercept and the P-value is significant,...
Does this mean that I can talk about the relationship which it has with
production as being significant or because it is the intercept can I not use
it because it has been selected and used as the basis for the relationships

I performed an experiment where some musicians had to walk with 5 different emotions
(sad, tender, neutral, happy, aggressive) while listening to 4 types of
sounds (metal, wood, gravel, snow) and I want to see if the sound affects the walking pace.
I measured for each walk the average time between steps (H2H, i.e. heel-to-heel)
Each trial was repeated twice.

On the rows there are the visual stimuli and on the columns the auditory

cell there is the average score for each trial (e.g. the trial GR-MT is
2.66, that
is the average score given by participants to the trial where the material
"gravel"
was provided at visual level and the material "metal" was provided ar
auditory level).
My first goal in the analysis process is to print a perceptual map where to
place the pairs of
audio-visual stimuli (e.g. WD-WD, MT-DL, etc.) and see how far the trials
are from each other.

Table belongs_to self - good idea?
Hi,
I have a somewhat complicated relationship question. I''ve been banging
my head about this for some time and have given in and decided to ask
the list :)
Here''s what I''m trying to achieve:
Products can have variants. For example, a t-shirt could come in
small, medium and large, but also black, green and blue in the first
two sizes, but only blue in large.

Streaming problems on localhost
Using icecast 1.3.10 and ices 0.1.0. Read in the
archives about adding sleep_ratio 0 to the conf,
which I did, with no success.
I'm streaming and listening on the same system.
However
every few seconds there are two quick breaks in the
stream, at a very consistent pace. I'm streaming MP3's
with this result. No re-encoding done, just straight
streaming. I set my bitrate to 160. I think
