Problems with CritSec and Wine 20020605 !?
Hello, I tried to run Master of Orion II Win95 edition just for fun. I'm using a wine only installation without any Windows binaries. The installation went fine. But I'm not able to start the program. When I run "wine Orion95.exe" on the command line, a black rectangle appears in the upper left corner of the screen. Then I get the following messages:

DM and ''offline'' PAM (and NSS?)...
I'm using samba 4.5 on a debian jessie (Louis packages). Rarely it happen that a power outgage tear down all the stuff, here. I've noticed that if the DM start before the DC, clearly all account data are inaccessible. To prevent or minimize that, the ''offline mode'' of winbind can be safely used also on DM servers? Or is tailoread against roaming client (portables,

Problem with dovecot-lda
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, first of all I have to say that dovecot is really impressive. I seems to be a very goot IMAP server and has in general a good documentation. I'm a beginner regarding the administration so please excuse if my questions sound silly but I want to learn to administrate these sophisticated things. Now here's my configuration: Linux openSuSE 12.1 Postfix 2.8.8 Dovecot 2.0.16 Bou...

how to update index from a script
Hello all, I''m using AAF right now to index my ~3million db records. However, any additions to these records are added to the database through an external script so the aaf activerecord hooks will not catch any updates. Since new records are only added rarely, I figured I could just add the new records manually in ferret from some type of script. I''ve been looking at the

RE: samba problem
Hi Alexander, The kind of firewall i have uses the basic iptables which came with the installation CDs of linux-SuSE. I installed SuSE 8.1 which has a firewall that has to be activated. But now, u know, i can't find the file containing the iptables so as to adjust the rules. When i try "iptables -L" in console mode i can see all the rules. I think i need to add some new rules

Can't boot NT floppy
...ver I've got a small problem. In fact the problem is maybe due to my BIOS (Phoenix on an HP Vectra VL800), and maybe due to isolinux / memdisk, I don't know. Generally speaking, take any floppy, format it under Win2K, copy from your hard drive boot.ini, ntldr and ntdtect.com and you've goot a bootable floppy, which allows you to start win 2K. This works perfectly. Now if I make an image of such a floppy (is winimage ok ?) and try to make a bootable CD using memdisk.... it loads the image and then suddenly reboot the whole PC.... I tried to do the same thing another way, creating my...

Ferret''s Memory usage when searching.
Hello, We are experiencing some performance problems when using Ferret and we are trying to isolate the problem. We have about 80 GB in Indexes for one of our clients and when a search is performed on those indexes the application gets really slow and eventually it stops responding. We''ve been monitoring the memory usage, and it rises very rapidly as the indexes are been loaded.

I've a good configuration so it's not the fault of my pc. Second, no network connexion is available. Can I make it works ? Thx for your help. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
