Seamonkey
..."yum update devhelp" pulls in seamonkey as
a dependency.
This seems like a sort of backdoor way to get seamonkey onto the
system. Did these packages really come from the upstream this way?
What if I had not had devhelp installed? Do I need to replace mozilla
or not?
Aside to Dag: The galeon package from rpmforge has an version
dependency on the specific mozilla package that's being replaced by
seamonkey (rather than a greater-or-equal dependency), so it's not
presently possible to install both seamonkey and galeon with yum.

Using the Search Engine & Keywords
...anyone running R on Linux share how they use the "Search Engine &
Keywords" page of R documentation? I cannot do any javascript on this page,
either searching for a term or following the keyword links. I tried Konqueror
(3.0.4, with javascript globally enabled), Mozilla (1.1), and Galeon (1.2.5),
but none of them do anything...
Sorry, I don't know anything about javascript. Still, it seems installation
procedure for R should at least somehow instruct a user how to set up the
search engine... the keyword page is in my mind one of the most useful in the
whole documentation.....

CESA-2006:0594-02: Critical CentOS 2 i386 seamonkey security update (was mozilla)

seamonkey-nspr-1.0.3-0.0.1.5.EL2.c2.1.i386.rpm

seamonkey-nss-devel-1.0.3-0.0.1.5.EL2.c2.1.i386.rpm
The seamonkey suite is meant to replace the mozilla suite, however
an updated galeon is not available so it will not update correctly.
This appears to be an upstream issue but everyone is quiet on the issue.
For now I recommend that you uninstall galeon before using yum upgrade.

Anybody knows if this is a bug in the code in the book, or have any
suggestions on solutions?
The code can be downloaded from:

I''ve tried both Firefox, Opera and Galeon for linux (Ubuntu), but get
the same result with all of them.

...esulting in

making startup for this request /much/ faster than starting a new

This feature lacks in other browsers which is why no one was able
to write a wrapper script around netscape, mozilla, galeon, konqueror,...
and pick whichever is found.

Then this should be fixed in the R Intro -- maybe a line could be added
suggesting that the browser="foo" options may be needed to switch
away from netscape?

R search engine broken (PR#6653)
Full_Name: St?phane Gourichon
Version: R 1.7.1 (2003-06-16).
OS: GNU/Linux
Submission from: (NULL) (132.227.205.226)
The HTML help is great. But the search engine is broken.
It used to work in Galeon 1.x, not Konqueror 3.0 .
Now it doesn't work, neither on Mozilla 1.6 / Firebird 0.6 / Firefox 0.8 nor
Konqueror 3.2 which are IMHO the latest versions of those advanced,
standard-compliant browsers.
Sorry I don't know a lot of JavaScript. I don't know quite if this is a security

browseURL question
I have a quick question about the browseURL function. When I use the function in a UNIX environment, I have to use two sets of quotations if I have the & symbol in the URL. For Windows I only need to use the first set. For example, on Windows:
browseURL("http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=Bioconductor&ei=UTF-8&fr=fp-tab-web-t&n=20&fl=0&x=wrt")

Multimedia module; Internet Explorer; Atomic clock sync - sundry difficulties

Internet Explorer will not display the site preview in HTML, although it
displays its own window OK. Neither will it show any websites when
online, saying each time - page not available, cannot find server. Can
anyone see a solution to this? Is there any way I can set WebDwarf to
use Galeon instead?
3) Winchart - a chart navigation program - shows a window saying the
display should be set to 256 colours (as it does in Windows without
causing problems) then hangs. I get the following in the terminal:

Sorry to jump off-topic but you may be the person I need to talk to. I'm a new user of Linux/Wine (but have a ton of computer experience). I installed ImgBurn under Wine today and it appears to run correctly but does not actually write to the cd
Is it ok if I pm you with a bit more detail?
Thanks,
