OpenSSH Key Storage
I have had a brief discussion with Damien Miller (below) about storing host port values in the known_hosts file so as to track multiple ssh sessions (with independant keys) that run on a single host but accept connections on different ports. If it were possible to state that a given key for a remote host belonged to that host's ssh session on port 23 and that another key belonged to that

SSH_CLIENT _not_ set when doing a command
Hi, I'm trying to create an dynamic dns system by using the nsupdate (or Net::DNS) trough a non-passphrase protected ssh session. I've keygen'ed an extra key, with no passphrase and using it, i execute a litte script on the server, which updates te DNS records. (something like this: ssh pickup /usr/local/bin/updatedns 10.1.2.3) This al works fine and dandy. I would like to protect

R and S-Plus: Two programs separated by a common language?
...try working in S-Plus. My understanding is that S-Plus has some useful extra features. Another potential benefit would be the ability to purchase technical support, which I thought might help me to learn the S language.   I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice about the wisdom or folly of trying to use both products. For example, how well do the two play together? If I learn to do something using a package in R, is their some way to bring that into S-Plus? I've noticed that some R packages, such as MASS and Hmisc are in S-Plus but are unsupported. Others, such as reshape, app...

[External] R hang/bug with circular references and promises
...ng environments, in R [1]. I see that SET_ENCLOS() is already commented as "not API and probably should not be <...> used". Do you think there is a way to recreate an environment, taking the REFSXP entries into account, without `parent.env<-`? Would you recommend to abandon the folly of unserializing environments manually? -- Best regards, Ivan [1] https://codeberg.org/aitap/unserializeData/src/commit/33d72705c1ee265349b3e369874ce4b47f9cd358/R/unserialize.R#L289-L313
