What's the thing? FreeBSD Security AdvisoryFreeBSD-SA-03:08.realpath (fwd)
...o nearest Russian CVS mirrors showed no changes in realpath.
Heck, I downloaded the patch and said in /usr/src:
# patch < realpath.patch
so it was rejected. Then I looked into realpath.c's revision and here
what I get:
$FreeBSD: src/lib/libc/stdlib/realpath.c,v 1.9.2.2 2003/06/02 13:31:16 fjoe Exp $
and this revision doesn't seem to have any if (*wbuf)... code at all.
Does it mean RELENG_4 is discontinued at all? This revision looks
quite old for any branches mentioned.

MFC of reentrant realpath.c
Hi,
I've seen that this commit never got MFC'd:
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/src/lib/libc/stdlib/realpath.c?rev=1.14&content-type=text/x-cvsweb-markup
Would it be possible to do that or are there any objections
out there ?

bug: RELENG_4_8 rc.diskless1 typo
...the RELENG_4_8 etc/rc.diskless1
# $FreeBSD: src/etc/rc.diskless1,v 1.5.2.10 2002/12/23 17:39:06 dillon
I found it initially in a cvsup from earlier this week, and again in a
cvsup from today.
I tried RELENG_4, but the typo is fixed.
# $FreeBSD: src/etc/rc.diskless1,v 1.5.2.13 2003/08/11 13:39:48 fjoe
specificly, the correct line is:
if [ "x`eval echo \\$md_size_$1`" = "x" ]; then
but the RELENG_4_8 version has:
if [ "x`eval echo \$md_size_$1`" = "x" ]; then
this is in the create_md section.
Would it be possible to fix this for RE...

More mount_smbfs
Thanks to Will Saxon I'm finally able to mount Samba shares on my 5.1-R
box using the command
mount_smbfs -I 129.197.36.34 -W acct01 //bfosdick@129.197.36.34/net-11
/sp/net-11
which then prompts me for my password. So now the question is...how do I
put this in /etc/fstab? What do I do about the password?

apache panics on a recent 4.8-STABLE
Yesterday I begin a couple of update to the latest 4.8-STABLE.
After that the two boxes continues to go in panics as soon as Apache (1.3
from the ports, also freshly recompiled, 2.0.x seems NOT to hang) starts.
I don't know if it is related to the other thread : "Kernel core dump in
recent 4.8-STABLE" but it is easily reproducible by cvsupping to a today
-STABLE and then running
