A couple of weeks ago I submitted a modest patch
(http://samba.org/samba-patches?findid=106) to feedback some changes
that I'd made to "configure.in" in order to get "configure" to properly
detect and support the HAVE_NETGROUP feature on a RedHat Linux system. I
don't expect accolades or Samba t-shirts to rain down on me for this

In an attempt to verify, I created a share on Win2k,
and followed the same...

As pleased as I am about seeing 2.2.1 released there's still an outstanding
bug which is preventing me from using it:
http://bugs.samba.org/?findid=21369 (reported over a month ago)
When copying a file from NT4.0 to samba server the file date/time is set to
the current time instead of the original file time. Not sure if this is
true for any other OS.
I would think this could break things for some people (like me).
I already identified what...

...ur and whether there are any
workarounds.
I've recently hacked Samba to include some account locking code that
prevents a client from logging into Samba after (say) 5 failed
attempts. I've done this by altering reply_sesssetup_and_X() in
smbd/reply.c. (see http://samba.org/samba-patches?findid=494) Basically
something that pam_tally does, but for Tru64.
W2K has a "feature" by which it tries your local username/password
on any remote server. Unfortunately, I've found a scenario where W2K
tries 8-10 times before prompting you for a new username/password.
Unfortunately, th...
