Extensible logging framework
Attached is a quick patch which adds a logging framework to compiz. I think it should be fairly self explanitory. I think it should allow plugin writers to extend it for any purpose, but I would appreciate any feedback or comments before going any further. Ajax Checkbox using Rails
Hi, I''m trying to have a checkbox, that when clickes sends an update to the server and in turn modify the UI with feedback on the success of the operation. The main difficulty I''m encountering is that I can''t pass the checkbox value if I use the standard PrototypeHelpers. I''m using remote_function to build the function call, but it doesn''t allow

using the asterisk mailbox utility
hello according to this user guide found at http://www.automated.it/guidetoasterisk.htm#_Toc49248768 it says the following Voicemail - Please leave a message after the tone... Ok, so you've got the basics going, and it's great - if you happen to sit by you phone all the time. What happens if you are out/away from your desk/sleeping you'll miss those vital calls. netwm dbus api
FYI, I have put up a forum post [1] where I am going to maintain information about the netwm api for the dbus plugin. I have gone through the EWMH spec [2] and broken it down into a dbus compatible api, it seems to be good and roughly compatible with the existing compiz one. I think everything should be self explanitory, if there are any comments or if there is anything I have misunderstood or

Shell Script Pointers?
Hey Listee's I am trying to write a shell script to sort and compare my blacklist for squidGuard with the nightly updates that come down in a tar ball. It should be rather simple but I'm not to grate at this. The script is to run nightly, it will download the latest blacklist tarball, un tar it and then add any new entries to the existing black list. The blacklists work by having a folder

"AJAX" file uploading
I''m pretty new to actually contributing to a software project outside of my own. I recently found the need to create an "ajax" uploader and thought I''d share it with the community. I write "ajax" because it acts like it''s ajax but we all know that javascript does not have filesystem access (for good reason) and thus ajax uploading isn''t

Confusing Contexts using AMP
I'm using Asterisk@Home with the AMP interface and I'm having troubles getting incoming calls working properly. In AMP, I have it set to take incoming calls from PSTN, during regular business hours, to be sent to extension 201. The include statement for extentions-additional.conf is uncommented in extensions.conf; and I've verified AMP successfully changes the config files. However

compilation issues
There's some compilation issues on Solaris with the native compilers with the current CVS head. OGGENC: ======= -- "oggenc.c", line 202: warning: improper pointer/integer combination: op "=" I believe the problem here is that rindex() is prototyped in <strings.h>, which is not included. This may be a sun-specific thing. OGG123: ======= -- "ogg123.c",

static box sizing problems
Hi, I tried this one over on the main wx-users list as well, but thought I would try it here since I am using wxRuby: I am using wxWidgets 2.8.7 on a linux box using the GTK build. I have pared down my issue to the simplest case: I am trying to use a horizontal BoxSizer to split a frame into two sections: a left and right side. I want the left side to stretch proportionally and I want the

Redirecting print output
I see a rich set of graphic device functions to redirect that output. Are there commands to redirect text as well. I have a set of functions that execute many linear regression tests serially and I want to capture this in a file for printing. Thanks, Stan Hopkins [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Giving user progress in an voice menu system
Hi all, I have a voice menu system ( Outlined below ), and I'd like to give the user some feedback when they dial an extension ( ringing, music, SOMETHING ). As it stands, when a user enters an extension from the menu system, they hear silence while the line rings. I even tried including the Ringing application before calling my macro to dial the phones, with no luck. Any help is
