Accessing examplars in apcluster (apcluster package)
Hi, I was wondering how it was possible to access the actual cluster exemplars from the APResult class. Currently it only spits it out onto the terminal if you type the object but there is no other way to see which one is the examplar. Would appreciate any help. Thanks, Sachin [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Testing Models without fixtures
Hi, I would like to test a sorting method that is in the user model, it''s a class method called search. What I would like to do is create 2 users and load the test database with just those 2 users, so that I can call User.search("john") and it would return those two users. Not sure how to clear the test database and populate it just with these 2 users for that specific

[LLVMdev] [LV] possible `vector.memcheck` regression when using `llvm.loop` and `llvm.mem.parallel_loop_access`
It seems that at some point in the not-so-distant-past that the loop vectorizer gained the ability to vectorize loops without explicit `llvm.loop` & `llvm.mem.parallel_loop_access` metadata. While that's awesome, there seems to be a regression in that `llvm.mem.parallel_loop_access` metadata doesn't make it into the alias analysis, and therefore a `vector.memcheck` basic block is

extending prototype''s classes
Hi, I''m relatively new to javascript programming, and OOP in general, so please be nice to me ;) My question is: I''d like to extend the Form class in prototype to have a Disable function that will disable all of the fields in a form. I''ve already written a function to do this, but I''d like to include it in my own library so I can access it easily and also

[LLVMdev] [LV] possible `vector.memcheck` regression when using `llvm.loop` and `llvm.mem.parallel_loop_access`
Adam, Please find the attached test case (run with ToT opt -O3). As you can see, `y_body` successfully is vectorized, though %33 and %46 are deemed MayAlias despite their exclusive use in loads ands stores marked with `llvm.mem.parallel_loop_access`. Printer banner always 'nobody'
I've had this problem as long as I've been using samba: every time anyone prints from a PC they get a banner page labeling them 'nobody.' Now, I realize this has to do with the guest account being 'nobody,' and the server is passing that name to the printer. It can get very frustrating, though, when lots of folks use the same printer and all of the jobs have the same name

Fixtures considered harmful?
I''m trying to get really serious about doing true BDD for a new Rails project, and I note that at <http://rspec.rubyforge.org/documentation/ rails/index.html> it says: "we really don?t recommend the use of rails fixtures" On the same page it also says (about Model specs): "these are the only specs that we feel should actually interact with the database"

A libc in LLVM
What do you expect the support for Windows to be? Certainly, I don't expect you to provide Windows support personally if you don't need it, but given that LLVM supports Windows, it should at least be done in such a way that the design lends itself to interested parties contributing Windows support. Currently clang-cl has several dependencies on having a Visual Studio installation present

A libc in LLVM
Hello LLVM Developers, Within Google, we have a growing range of needs that existing libc implementations don't quite address. This is pushing us to start working on a new libc implementation. Informal conversations with others within the LLVM community has told us that a libc in LLVM is actually a broader need, and we are increasingly consolidating our toolchains around LLVM. Hence, we

Hey Lucio, You will need a FXS port. I would recommend setting up something like Cisco SPA3102. The SPA3102 can be found cheap on Ebay, and will be easy to setup in Asterisk. http://www.infoworld.com/article/2633694/data-modeling/your-pstn-and-you--linksys-spa-3102-and-asterisk.html Once the FXS is set up, it's just a matter of adding a ring group/pickup group:

Minard's Challenge: Re-Visioning Minard Contest
...ations and procedural or declarative specifications required to program a re-creation (or extension) of this famous graph. It occurred to me that it might be of interest, perhaps fun, and hopefully illuminating to pose this as a formal challenge to the R community and others. Several exisiting exemplars are shown on my 'Re-visions of Minard' web page http://www.math.yorku.ca/SCS/Gallery/re-minard.html (in the Gallery of Data Visualization, ../) These include programming examples in Mathematica, SAS/IML Workshop, Wilkinson's Grammar of Graphics, images created in other data visualizati...

Insignificant variable improves AIC (multinom)?
Hi, I am trying to specify a multinomial logit model using the multinom function from the nnet package. Now I add another independent variable and it halves the AIC as given by summary(multinom()). But when I call Anova(multinom()) from the car package, it tells me that this added variable is insignificant (Pr(>Chisq)=0.39). Thus, the improved AIC suggests to keep the variable but the Anova

Essay identification
Hi R-help, I have a database of 10 students who have written an overall of 78 essays. The challenge? I would like to identify who wrote the 79th essay. Has anybody used R in this context? Even if not, would you suggest me which pattern recognition technique I might possibly apply? Thanks a lot and regards, Tom --------------------------------- [[alternative HTML version
