7.2-PRERELEASE/sunx2200/bge/msi broken
Hi, between March 16 and now, bge on a Sun X2200 stopped working, turning off msi (via hw..pci.enable_msi=0) got it working again. I tried first replacing bge with an older version but that did not help. please advice :-) Danny

re(4) problems with GA-H77N-WIFI
Hello, I need some advice how to debug this issue ... Recently I got a new mainboard for a router, it's a Gigabyte GA-H77N-WIFI with two onboard re(4) NICs. The problem is that re0 works fine and re1 doesn't: It doesn't receive any packets. Tcpdump displays all outgoing packets, but no incoming ones on re1. Ifconfig shows the link correctly (100 or 1000 Mbit, depending on where I

Audio fails on centos 5.5 sony laptop - snd-hda-intel
...15 snd_hda_intel,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq,snd_pcm_oss,snd_usb_audio,snd_mixer_oss,snd_pcm,snd_rawmidi,snd_timer,snd_seq_device,snd_hwdep soundcore 11553 1 snd So I remembered the bug rh introduced with the 194 kernels and nvidia chipsets (not my case but I'm desperate) and added the enable_msi=0 so that my modprobe.conf is now <snip> options snd cards_limit=8 alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel options snd-hda-intel index=0 enable_msi=0 but it still will not work. <rant> I am getting frustrated at the retrograde steps that seem to be hitting kernel and 5.x upgrades lately. yum...

bge problems in RELENG_9, bge0: watchdog timeout -- resetting
...; on bge3 bge3: Ethernet address: 2c:76:8a:54:08:17 Searching other bug reports and posts, I've tried: hw.bge.allow_asf="0" hw.pci.enable_msi="0" But it didn't help. Any ideas? If I don't use the loader.conf settings above, I also get (before the watchdog timeouts): bge0: 2 link states coalesced bge0: 2 link...

MSIX failure
...hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Intel Corporation' device = 'Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Copper) rev 5 (82541PI)' class = network subclass = ethernet (no device listing for em0) Swapping the PCI card with a PCI-X version gives the same behaviour. Setting hw.pci.enable_msix and hw.pci.enable_msi to 0 doesn't help in either case.

System beeps in kernel 2.6.18-194
So, just today I noticed a problem with kernel 2.6.18-194 (CentOS 5.5) on several Intel DP965LT systems; the system beeps (such as terminal beeps) are no longer passed through to the external speakers. This is a problem because in our situation the boxes are distant from their monitor/keyboard, the system speaker on this motherboard is extremely weak, and there are no system speaker header pins

I don't think the first one posted.. posted to freebsd.stable, freebsd-current, Freebsd-hardware I checked the hardware in the online documentation manual/hardware It only lists the bits and peices of the machine say the hard drive controller and so forth. but doesn't give you a particular system to look at as a working machine with FreeBSD 6.2 does anybody

[SO]HO Software RAID5 server: which implementation should I choice?
Hello, freebsd-stable. Does somebody use some software RAID5 on FreeBSD in real production system? I want to build storage server for my home: RAW photos, multi-layer PhotoShop files and FLAC-encoded music consume a lot of space, and they should be availible both from desktop & notebook. Also, all photo-content is unique, so I need some insuranse from single HDD crash. I understand,
