New package for morphology and smoothing in any number of dimensions: mmand
Dear all, I'm pleased to announce the release on CRAN of the "mmand" package (for Mathematical Morphology in Any Number of Dimensions). It provides functions for performing mathematical morphology (erode, dilate, etc.), smoothing, and other kernel-based operations on array-like objects of any dimensionality. The package is centred around a flexible function called morph(), which can

I don't know what's happening there. Thought maybe it was a mp3 file (I've had troubles with certain mp3s). Check your messages log in icecast (you can change the message detail with the console mode I believe). You might be getting a bad password or something on the icecast side and by looking at ices just seeing this error. Could be a bad port# ? Wish I could be of more help.

I've had the same issue. Must not be many subscribers or they've moved on to some other list. I switched to the linux Shoutcast for my server (much more reliable) and am looking for a replacement for ices that reliably re-encodes VBR. Let me know if you find anything. BTW...maybe if you posted your config files for ices and icecast i could compare it with mine (or my old one for

Geometrical Interpretation of Eigen value and Eigen vector
Dear all, It is not a R related problem rather than statistical/mathematical. However I am posting this query hoping that anyone can help me on this matter. My problem is to get the Geometrical Interpretation of Eigen value and Eigen vector of any square matrix. Can anyone give me a light on it? Thanks and regards, Arun [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Good luck with that. Actually I didn't mean log. I meant the icecast console itself. If it's in the right console mode (2?) it will display everything that's happening and any error messages. Seems like the log only shows uptime info by default. Any ol' how, i think i've exhausted my in-depth technical prowess ;-) -----Original Message----- From: owner-icecast@xiph.org

summary() of lm() problem (PR#135)
Debuggers, I wrote to r-help about this and was appropriately told off by Peter Dalgaard. I append that mail in case you have not seen it. Following Peter's advice I have attempted to simplify the problem. First note that the following does *not* fail (by which I mean crash, as in generate a memory access violation): > tmp<-matrix(c(1,0,0,1,1,1),2,3) >

understanding DWT
Can someone please help me understand the examples given in the dwt function of the waveslim library library(waveslim) ?dwt I'm having a problem understanding these lines. I assume they are required because of how the algorythm deals with the signal bounderies. Am I correct in thinking that for wavelets of scale 1 and 2, the coefiecints need to be shifted by 2 places, for scale 3 and 4 shift

file(1) support for Ogg and Ogg/Vorbis
Hi all, While I was busy sorting out my music collection, I discovered that file(1) had no Ogg/Vorbis (or Ogg/* for that matter) support yet. Is there anyone working on support for this or am I using an outdated version of file(1) ? file(1) has extensive MP3 support. Compare the following : $ file */*.ogg | grep 01 Busta Rhymes - Genesis/01 Intro.ogg: data De La Soul -

Spatstat - coordinates in observation window
Dear R users, I wish to run spatial point pattern analysis (e.g. pair correlation function, mark correlation function) for which I need to create an observation window (window=owin) from which the spatial analysis is generated. The command I used to create this observation window as follows: X1<- ppp(x, y, window=owin(c(80.58,144.96),c(101.06,165.13)),

...ay and start line reading picking your query for something they cannot understand. Linux helpers do not see the big picture(analize) they see code and that is all, so when confused about something they can''t see they start to try to see things that are not there which in turn causes pupil dilation which in turn causes them to just see more code or in the help case they see text they do not understand hence they follow lines and answer questions trying to suggest they understand more than you do in turn hoping to gain the advantage as after all you are asking for their help and they do not su...
