I downloaded the free CD's and installed Suse 10.0. When I tried to install the latest RPM for R, the Yast installer complained that two files were missing. I was told that I can install from the internet, and started the process, but found I must supply the name of the server and the name of the directory. I tried several combinations unsuccessfully. Can anyone help me?

I have downloaded the source code for Linux. the ./configure procedure can find gcc but cannot find f77 or f2c I have looked for the above compiler with Test and installed all what pertains to Fortran. On Fedora Core 4 I keep running into the following problem: I followed the Instructions on the Official Samba-3 HOWTO and the example 2.1 for the anonymous Read-Only Server Configuration works fine. I get stuck with example 2.2. I used smbpasswd but I just don't get write access to the samba share. I have to provide the username and password in order to get read access to the samba share.

Hi, in the following scenario I've got the Problem of "STATUS_SHARE_VIOLATION". Client A (with User 1) copies a file to share X. (with: DENY_NONE 0x120196 WRONLY NONE) Client B (with User 1) reads this file from share X (with: DENY_NONE 0x120089 RDONLY NONE) Now Client C (with User 1) wants also to read this file from share X and gets the STATUS_SHARE_VIOLATION.
