Hi, I've been looking at the problem of the default caller ID. When a call comes in with no CID or witheld it's always set to 'asterisk' which is what the phone displays. I've been looking for an option to change that. The only place I can find is DEFAULT_CALLERID in chan_sip.c. This is set by the 'callerid' option in the sip.conf. However the documentation states that this overides outgoing caller ID and I don't want to set that (OTOH the code implies it's only a default - chan_sip.c line 4163, plus the variable name is default_callerid...

...call is from phonenumber xxxxxxxxxx For calls that have a blocked callerid, I want asterisk to indicate that the callerid is unknown, both in the email and in the message envelope on the actual voicemail. Is there any way to achieve both these phenomena? I tried editing chan_sip.c to change the default_callerid there, but that causes its own set of problems. Any help would be much appreciated! Hi, Im sure somebody out there had the same "problem before. IF a call comes in with suppressed caller id (Call Centers, etc.) 'asterisk' is shown as CallerID. Can I change somewhere this behaviour to display like ' Unknown' ? Thanks! Kind Regards, Erik

Hello, is it possible to change how are caller id on incoming call from isdn, capi lines displayed od sip phones ? ( e.g. SNOM ) standard is 1234567@domain.net.
