dahdi_dummy: Unable to register DAHDI rtc driver
...have a silly kernel configuration problem. I'm running: * vanilla 2.6.27.10 kernel built from source * dahdi-2.1.0.4 built from source So far so good, dahdi module loads just fine: dahdi: Telephony Interface Registered on major 196 dahdi: Version: 2.1.0.4 when I try to: hal04 dahdi # modprobe dahdi_dummy FATAL: Error inserting dahdi_dummy (/lib/modules/2.6.27.10/dahdi/dahdi_dummy.ko): Input/output error kernel messages gives me: dahdi_dummy: Unable to register DAHDI rtc driver I'm probably doing something silly here. Then I was curious, so I backed up to a 2.6.25.9 kernel I already had, and...

...only needed for timing and as I understood for conference mixing. As part of the update I also updated the dadhi modules and the kernel (all with "yum update"): kmod-dahdi-linux-2.3.0.1-1_centos5.2.6.18_194.3.1.el5 kmod-dahdi-linux-2.2.1-1_centos5.2.6.18_164.11.1.el5 First I noted that dahdi_dummy is no longer present in kmod-dahdi-linux-2.3.0.1-1. Reverting back to kmod-dahdi-linux-2.2.1-1 solved that issue, now the module is loaded again. lsdahdi ### Span 1: DAHDI_DUMMY/1 "DAHDI_DUMMY/1 (source: Linux26) 1" (MASTER) lsmod|grep dahdi_dummy dahdi_dummy 8612 0 dahdi...

dahdi_tool reports that dahdi_dummy is UNCONFIGURED
Usually I used real Digium cards in asterisk systems, so I'm running into this for the first time. dahdi_tool reports that dahdi_dummy is in state UNCONFIGURED. This isn't super surprising, as it seems like the configuration files for DAHDI are really intended only for configuring real physical cards. But that begs the question: Is there any legal DAHDI configuration for dahdi_dummy such that dahdi_tool will stop complaining...

MeetMe() and dahdi_dummy on an embedded system
...USB ports and one serial port (no keyboard or VGA). I'm using the Voyage Linux distro, which basically is Debian Lenny optimized for this board. Asterisk 1.6.1.12 runs fine on the system. The only issue I'm having is with MeetMe(). As there's no DAHDI devices attached, I'm running dahdi_dummy. Audio gets all choppy on MeetMe(), but works fine for other applications such as Playback(). SIP calls also work fine. Most probably it's a timing issue. I connected an Astribank unit with 16 FXS in order to provide timing, and after that I get crystal clear audio on MeetMe(). Of course I wo...

Dahdi_dummy is more accurate than core timer?
Hi, I have some servers that are dedicated to do meetme conferencing. From some previous test i concluded that I need to use dahdi_dummy as it is more accurate. If I did use the core timers in dahdi (not loading dahdi_dummy) I got bad quality in the conferences and dahdi_test showed 99.6% as worst. I thought maybe the issue as bad hardware for the timing or something else. But today I re-ran these tests on another server showin...

Dahdi and ztdummy
Hi, I need to run ztdummy for Paging, but now that this is all become dahdi I don`t really know where to start. I did build dahdi before building asterisk, but that`s it. I find it hard to find any documentation referring to dadhi instead of zaptel. I have no Digium hardware, but I still need the ztdummy timer (or whatever it`s called now). How do I get myself going? problems inserting dahdi modules using Debian Leni
Hi. I have a Debian Leni system with asterisk-1.8. I was trying to get meetme to work and it depends on dahdi, so I compiled dahdi-trunk and dahdi-tools-trunk, however, when trying to insert dahdi_dummy, it complained about symbol crc_ccitt_table, although the module was actually there in the kernel tree. So, I took the Debian source, and I had the config and I did make Bzimage, make modules and make modules_install, but dahdi_dummy still complains about the same symbol, it says no version for th...

Removing `chan_dahdi.conf`

If I have an empty `chan_dahdi.conf` file, then Asterisk won't complain at all, but if I remove the empty file, Asterisk spits out the above error message. So my questions are: 1. By removing `chan_dahdi.conf`, am I breaking any functionality that would cause dahdi_d...

meetme() and dahdi_dummy on an embedded system

Help building dahdi for debian
Hi I am in the process of installing a new box and using dahdi. I have a tdm410 + hardware echo canceller. I have just read in the read me for dadhi that VPMADT032 support has been removed and unlike with the zaptel stuff i could just download and install the firmware I can't with dahdi what is the best way forward to recompile with hardware echo canceller support. Thanks Alex
