mainboard recommendations

(The ASUS one does this, too, but I tend to avoid it when selecting workstation/server-grade HW.) What do you suggest? XEN sound emulation locks device exclusively
...d be mixed painlessly. The problem seems to be that the HVM guest does not use the device via the default device (which should go via the DMIX system), but directly. How can this be fixed? newbie question: why do I see root directory in wine, when no drive is configured?
Hi, This might be a stupid question; I checked the FAQ, but could not find a solution. In Wine Config, I have only two drives configured: C: is ~/.wine/drive_c D: is ~ Still, when I run winefile (or any other wine app), besides drives "C" and "D", there is a "/" drive, which is the root directory of my real file system. Why is it still there, even if I

Hi, Could someone please explain me what is the current status of the jack audio back-end? (Both midi and audio.) The feature to switch back-end seems to have disappeared from winecfg, and I can't find anything useful in the docs either. Thank you for your help: Kristof

puppet and domainnames
Hello all, when I do a signature request to puppetmaster, if no domainname is configured then puppet gets it from /etc/resolv.conf. Even if the "search" line is commented. I had to delete the search line in resolv.conf to obtain a signature request with hostname only, and then it appears with a final dot (hostname.). Is it that puppet does not like being domainless ? Bug#536176: xen-utils-3.4: trying xen-3.4 once breaks xen-3.2 (?)
Package: xen-utils-3.4 Version: 3.4.0-1 Severity: critical Justification: breaks unrelated software After installing xen-utils-3.4 besides my existing xen-3.2 system, I could not start xend-3.2 anymore. The message I was getting is this: "Failed to initialize dom0 state." As far as I know, xen 3.2 and 3.4 are supposed to be able to live peacefully on the same system. (The

Package: xen-utils-3.4 Version: 3.4.0-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable This packages should depend on the 3.4 version of xenstore utils and library, because it the Lenny versions are installed, xend crashes instead of starting up. (Many users choose to run lenny/sid hybrid systems, with lenny as default, so it's completely plausible that the wrong package will be

Best practices for mailbox network file storage?
Is there a current best practice for a shared filesystem backend for mailboxes (in my case, all virtual accounts)?? NFS 3/4, GFS2, GlusterFS, other?? In the case of the latter ones, is the use of Director necessary?? Any specific anti-recommendations?? Also, if it matters, I *think* I want to use BackBlaze racks for storage.? Also, I've seen recommendations for the filesystem underneath like
