If you had to rate which printer brand works better with Linux (Fedora and Centos), what would it be?

very good luck with Brother printers. ?However, we have to be honest

Re: ext3 / ext4 on USB flash drive?
...n't spreading the wear around at all, if you write a
single block 1,000 times, and the flash only supports 1,000 write
cycles, then that block will go bad.
Unfortunately, the cheapest USB flash devices that you find in the
bargain bin at the checkout counter of the Micro Center tend to use
the crappiest flash media possible, and the crappist FTL's. Some even
will only have 512MB of flash even though it is advertised as having
8GB of flash, such that if you ever write more than 512MB worth of
files on the flash, you will start losing data. (Fortunately most
people don't actually use the f...

Wine 1.2 breaking VSTs, making unusable/glitchy. these plugins have been platinum for a long time :( now are almost useless
...wine, frankly, i don't see the point in
hacking a game to run under linux at the cost of 30% fps drop in
performance.
Now, i didn't get a single reply with to my problem, which is
ridiculous when you watch this list filled with replies on how to make
some stupid game half-work
with it's crappiest "low as possible" GFX settings. This is ironic,
when you consider That there are more Linux Distro's geared towards
Pro-audio (most of which are using Wineasio) then there ever will be
linux gaming distro's. A lot of linux musicians require wine, as Linux
doesn't exaclty have...

Any Brother printer that I've ever had the misfortune to have to deal with either didn't work at all or if could be made to work, it didn't work for long.
If it's a Brother, run away as fast as you can. They're the cheapest crappiest thing you can possibly imagine.
My wife makes quilts and says the same thing about Brother sewing machines.

ext3 / ext4 on USB flash drive?
I think this is really an attempt at user feedback, rather than user
discussion. But there's no such thing as a user-feedback mail list.
Nevertheless, others may find this pertinent: why doesn't mke2fs
handle USB's competently? And if it does, why doesn't it reassure me
so? And how can I handle a linux-formatted USB flash drive in the
absence of my system giving me any guidance?

YET Another echo issue PRI CARD Any help acc epted :-)
...that
works for you. Restart Asterisk after every change.
I have also noticed that SIP phones echo different. For example, X-Lite
echos a lot unless you turn down the mic and headset volume almost to the
bottom. Snom 190 echos a bit but if you turn down handset volume it goes
away. Ironically, the crappiest Grandstream BT-101 works great, perfect
audio quality if you can excuse the Wal-Mart casing, the terrible display,
and sticky buttons.

ATI VGA Passthrough / Xen 4.2 / Linux 3.8.6
Hi,
I''m trying to get VGA passthrough to work to an XP x64 guest, and I''m
seeing "interesting" things happening.
I''m using the kernel and userspace tools from here:
http://xen.crc.id.au/support/guides/install/#
on Scientific Linux 6.
I gave up on trying to get an Nvidia card to work in the guest having
read about the extra patches required to get a

Backing up ZFS snapshots
I have an OpenSolaris snv_105 server at home that holds my photos,
docs, music, etc, in a zfs pool. I backup my laptops with rsync to the
OpenSolaris server. All of my important data is in one place, on the
OpenSolaris server. I want to backup this data. I want to protect
against losing my data, and I would also like to recover previous
versions of files when I make mistakes.
* I do not have a

ZFS RaidZ recommendation
I have been searching this forum and just about every ZFS document i can find trying to find the answer to my questions. But i believe the answer i am looking for is not going to be documented and is probably best learned from experience.
This is my first time playing around with open solaris and ZFS. I am in the midst of replacing my home based filed server. This server hosts all of my media
