master or client
Hello, Dovecot auth protocol 1.0 defines differend command sets for client and master. How can a daemon distinguish a master connection from a client connection? Clients do send CPID and master does not. I have following auth configuration: auth external { socket connect { master { path = /var/state/dovecot/login/master-auth } } } I try to learn my authentication daemon to learn to speak with Dovecot. I fire up my master.py and try to login via pop3 as foo...

Issue with exim and auth protocol
...waits for the server to start and to receive the DONE command until it starts its own handshake. What I actually get is: exim connects to dovecot auth dovecot VERSION 1 1 dovecot SPID 48 And then, dovecot stops (I presume it waits for the client handshake, VERSION and CPID). Exim on its side waits for the DONE. This results in the SMTP connection by exim never replying to the AUTH PLAIN command. This is exim 4.80 (or 4.83) and dovecot 2.1.7. I have another server set up almost exactly the same (but with dovecot 2.1.17) where it does work. In that case, dovecot fini...

dtrace and follow fork
I am trying to use dtrace to trace all sscanf calls. I am able to use pid provider for this. But my application forks off children at times to handle requests. Is there a way I can stop the child process immediately after it is started so that I can attach a pid provider to that and trace the scanf calls in it? I have tried using the "create" probe but that did not help.

Sending ANI over SIP
...no ANI present in the SIP INVITE. The From: header includes just an IP address -- as does the Contact field. What is the _proper_ way to send ANI via SIP? I am thinking it is Calling-Party-ID but I'm hoping someone can verify this for me as it's not mentioned in the RFC. I've hacked CPID support into Asterisk 1.0.9 but our provider doesn't appear to use it -- ie, if From is "Private" but CPID is present (with privacy=full), 1-800 numbers still fail because of lack of ANI. My workaround would be to detect numbers which require ANI (1-8XX, 911, etc) and ensure that the...

Re: high memory guest issues - virsh start and QEMU_JOB_WAIT_TIME
...and that one seemed the most obvious but I had not tried to trace it all the way back to the domain start job or checked the debug logs yet, sorry. So looking a bit more carefully I see the real issue is in src/qemu/qemu_monitor.c: 321 static int 322 qemuMonitorOpenUnix(const char *monitor, pid_t cpid) 323 { 324 struct sockaddr_un addr; 325 int monfd; 326 int timeout = 30; /* In seconds */ Is this safe to increase? Is there any reason to keep it at 30s given (from what I'm seeing on a fast 2-socket Haswell system) that hugepage backed guests larger than ~160GB memory will not be...

How can I debug this? somehow enable debugging in prosody, so it logs what it sends as cpid parameter, as you can see here: https://hg.prosody.im/prosody-modules/file/tip/mod_auth_dovecot/auth_dovecot/sasl_dovecot.lib.lua#l70 > > Antoine -- -- Kirill Miazine <km at krot.org>
