xyplot and lsegments
Hi, How might I use xyplot to plot segments where the segments are in the input data? (ie a directed acyclic forest). Here's an example in base graphics: n = data.frame(id = c(1,2,3,4), parent = c(0,1,2,2), value = c(5,5.5,7,3), date = c(1,2,3,3.5)) plot(n$date, n$value) do.call( segments, with( merge(n,n,by.x="parent", by.y="id"),

Key mapping problem (Endnote)
Dear fellow Wine users, It was to my recent delight that I found that EndNote 3 will work usably under Wine. However, it does seem to display a slightly odd problem when certain keys are pressed. In essence, the problem seems to be that certain keys, when pressed, generate two keystrokes. So for example, pressing RETURN moves down two lines, pressing BACKSPACE deletes two characters, pressing

Changing "Shutdown" to "Log off" in Win95?
The Samba set up we're using to support 25 or so Win 95 clients is working well, but my users are usually not up to complicated tasks. Has anyone found a way to get logging out down to a single action (like, Start/Logout), instead of Start/Shutdown/Close all programs and log in as another user/Yes? I'm tired of explaining this already! :) Daryl Daryl Biberdorf darylb@superserve.com

GGPLOT Clipping Regions
Hi there, I'm trying to find out the command to stop clipping to plot region in ggplot. I have a bar chart (axis flipped) with labels on the bars, but the labels are clipped at the plot region box. I know it's possible to turn this off for base and lattice, but how about ggplot? par(xpd=NA) The ggplot2 manual doesn't seem to mention it, and a search for ggplot and

I have a little problem. I realize this may not be the right place to ask this, but I'll bet luke or someone else here knows the answer :-> I'm not the site network administrator, and she's not willing/able to figure out the changes necessary to fix a small problem that cropped up this week: For months my department's PCs have been booting and configuring themselves from the

Wacraft 3 Support deteriorating
Hi, I am / was Wine mainly using for playing Warcraft 3. I know it's an old game but it's still highly popular. The problem is, with each new version the support gets worse and worse. There are even people in BugZilla who show the bit of code, which creates the new bugs but nothing happens. For example with the newest dev release and the current stable release it is NOT possible to: -

Is there absolutelu no (unofficial) way to detect whether a programm is running using Wine? In this way a programm could decide to use other routines for those features that do not work fine using Wine.

Shortcuts not appearing in gnome panel drawers
I'm trying to trace why launchers created by wine due to a program installation are not appearing in the menus on my system. The launchers appear to have the correct contents, but for some reason gnome-panel is not adding them to my menus. Does anyone know how to run the relavent gnome tools with options to see what's happening when gnome reads these launchers. Keep in mind that there

Gateway not setting In-Reply-To header
Is there any chance at someone looking at the gateway software between the forum<-->mailing list and seeing if it is possible to have it set the In-Reply-To header when sending a forum post to the mailing list in response to an email? Would make it much easier on those of us with mail clients that do threading based on this header. Btw, what's the software being used? mail2forum? --
